Lynk & Co 01: the sole option

Lynk & Co Philippines — under the leadership of United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated — launched the 01 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) not too long ago.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers the Lynk & Co 01?

The Lynk & Co 01 is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with hybrid technology.
  • How much power does the Lynk & Co 01 make?

The Lynk & Co 01 produces some 258 hp and 265 Nm of torque.
  • It is offered in a single variant and ensures that those looking to drive the crossover home will get the whole package without having to compromise — which is what oftentimes happens when one is torn apart between trims.

Today, we take a look at the sole variant of the Lynk & Co 01 and see why it could be a good pick for those who are on the market for a more sustainable means of moving around.

    Luxurious looks

Outside, one can easily notice the Swedish design roots of the Lynk and Co 01. After all, the brand is a product of a collaboration between Geely and Volvo.

At the fore, the PHEV crossover wears a symmetrical fascia with a grille that features both a honeycomb-style meshwork and horizontal slats. Flanking the front end are high-performance double-lens LED headlights as well as daytime running lamps.

The side profile of the Lynk & Co 01 boasts black wheel arches, door claddings, side mirrors, and pillars. On the other hand, the door handles are body-colored while the somewhat aerodynamically-designed wheels are two-toned (black and silver).

On its rear is a roof-integrated spoiler, horizontally oriented taillamps, and a large rear diffuser with twin tailpipes.

The Lynk & Co 01 is available in Blue, Gray, White, and Black.

Overall, the simplicity of the Lynk & Co 01’s exterior makes it classy and elegant — especially when compared to other crossovers on the market that are peppered with aggressive-looking angles and snappy bodylines.

    Feature-rich interior

The cabin of the Lynk & Co 01 is packed with modern-day amenities, making it a good pick for today’s tech-savvy car buyers.

Greeting the driver is a flat-bottom, leather-wrapped, steering wheel with multi-functional controls. It also gets a 12.3-inch full digital instrument cluster paired with a 12.7-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

The seats come in a sporty design and complements the entire vibe of the cabin.

Its center console is drive-centric and most of the important controls to access the Lynk & Co 01’s features are positioned within the reach of the person sitting behind the wheel.

Passengers, on the other hand, can enjoy good music quality to keep them company on both short and long trips. Audio is directed to a 10-speaker Harman Infinity System that can satisfy audiophiles who also happen to be car enthusiasts.

    Reliable powertrain

Under the hood of the Lynk & Co 01 is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with hybrid technology mated to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. On paper, the setup makes some 258 horsepower and 265 Newton-meters of torque.

It offers emissions-free driving of up to 69 kilometers and the onboard battery can be charged by using a Type 2 alternating current charging system.

    Safety

Safety-wise, the Lynk & Co 01 is equipped with features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, traffic jam assist, and lane keep assist with lane departure warning.

Of course, you still have your standard technology such as seatbelts and airbags to keep its occupants safe while on the road.

    Final thoughts

While some may see having a single variant as a downside, other car buyers might view it as an advantage. No longer must PHEV adopters take their precious time in selecting which variant to pick as all of the bells and whistles are slapped on the Lynk & Co 01.

It is priced at P2.338 million.
