Range-topping Flagship variant makes 422 hp, 543 Nm

Zeekr X: the 2 available trims

Zeekr Philippines has finally launched its initial offerings to Filipino electric vehicle (EV) buyers. One of which is the “bold, intelligent, and comfortable” X.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What are the two varaints of the Zeekr X?

The two variants of the Zeekr X in the Philippines are Premium RWD and Flagship AWD.
  • What is the price range of the Zeekr X?

The Zeekr X is priced from P2.6 million-P3 million.
  • Touted as a compact luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV) created for urban dwellers, the Zeekr X is marketed as the ideal companion for adventurers and families seeking new environments to explore.

So, for those eyeing the latest model put forth by the Geely-owned EV brand, here’s a quick look at its two available trims to help them make a better buying decision.

    Zeekr X Premium RWD

The Zeekr X Premium is the base variant of the electric crossover.

Outside is a modern-looking fascia characterized by smooth lines and elegant curves. At its fore is a pair of full LED headlamps and LED daytime running lights (DRL), which border its simple yet stylish fascia. Despite the lack of a conventional radiator, the Zeekr X has a lower front grille with large horizontal slats.

The side profile of the Zeekr X is highlighted by seamless doors with frameless windows. No door handles are present on the side panels as they have been replaced by buttons on the crossover’s pillars, which provide a soft action when opening and closing.

Also found at the side are its electrically-powered side mirrors with heating, folding, memory, and auto dipping (when reversing) functions. These external mirrors also have repeaters for better visibility.

The Zeekr X Premium rides on 19-inch Propeller Hub wheels shod in 235/50 series tires.

Its rear end boasts LED lighting too. Positioned just below the rear glass are LED taillamps with the illuminated ZEEKR script in the middle. The roof extends ever so slightly to form a spoiler and houses the crossover’s third brake lamp.

To each side of the lower rear bumpers are sleek-looking reflectors.

Finally, an electric liftgate with height adjustment and memory function rounds up the exterior features of the Zeekr X’s base model.

Inside, the Zeekr X Premium grade gets polyurethane-covered seats. The driver’s seat is power-adjustable with heating and ventilation functions. The passenger sitting shotgun lacks cooling properties.

The second-row seats — also covered in the same upholstery — are manually adjustable but get a pull-down center armrest.

The driver gets to grip a leather-wrapped, multi-functional steering wheel with a flat top and bottom design. Past it is an 8.8-inch high-definition LCD instrument cluster accompanied by a 24.3-inch augmented reality head-up display that shoots crisp and clear projections on the windshield.

Taking center stage is a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip that facilitates a smooth user experience.

Audio from the said unit is blasted to a seven-speaker high-performance unit. Other notable features in the Zeekr X Premium’s cabin include a wireless charger, a dual-zone air conditioning system, and air quality sensors paired with an N95 filter.

For those looking to feel close to nature, the crossover has a Panoramic sunroof.

When it comes to performance, the Zeekr X Premium variant uses a high-performance permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) that draws energy from a lithium nickel cobalt manganate.

The said powertrain setup generates some 268 horsepower (hp) to the rear wheels with 343 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. It zooms from a standstill to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in 5.6 seconds.

Range for the Zeekr X Premium is up to 445 kilometers (km).

Handling suspension at the front is a MacPherson strut while the rear end is supported by a multi-link setup. Stopping power comes from disc brakes front (ventilated) and back (solid).

Safety-wise, the Zeekr X Premium model gets a slew of airbags and seatbelts, electronic stability control, hill descent control, an anti-rolling program, an anti-lock brake system with electronic brake-force distribution, electronic traction control, cornering brake control, a brake assist system with emergency braking light flash, and low-speed pedestrian warning.

It also gets a 360-degree-view camera, and a digital video recorder, which often comes in handy should drivers get in a sticky situation.

    Zeekr X Flagship AWD

The range-topping Flagship variant bears striking similarities to the base-level model, which is great news for EV car buyers who do not want to splash the cash on some top-of-the-line-level vehicle.

However, the differences that set apart the Zeekr X Flagship from the Premium grade could just be worth every penny (or centavo).

Outside, the top-tier model can be seen wearing a set of 20-inch forged wheels wrapped with 245/45 mute self-repairing tires. Inside, it flaunts ambient lighting with Pixel RGB LED technology, front seats with vibration function, and a 13-speaker Yamaha-made surround stereo premium audio unit.

The distinction between the two variants can be felt upon depressing the pedals as the Zeekr X Flagship model uses two PMSMs. The front wheel axle dishes out 154 horses with 200 Nm while the rear wheel axle puts out 268 hp with 343 Nm of pulling power.

In total, the power produced by the Zeekr X Flagship model on all four wheels is around 422 hp while its torque gets up to 543 Nm.

Acceleration time from zero to 100 kph is also improved to 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 190 kph. Range, however, suffers to a reduced 425 km on a single charge.

Zeekr X Premium RWD: P2.6 million
Zeekr X Flagship AWD: P3 million

    Final thoughts

The Zeekr X has the potential to make waves in the local EV crossover scene. Pretty much like cars from Lynk and Co, its design language screams Volvo while the technological features slapped onto the vehicle have strong Geely traces.

It could make for a great EV for many car buyers looking to switch to a more sustainable means of driving in style and luxury.
