19th Batch Of Scholars Complete Auto Servicing Course Under ‘Isuzu Heart And Smile Project’
MANILA: Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), World Vision, and TESDA conducted the graduation rites of the 19th batch of trainees from the Isuzu Heart and Smile Project at the TESDA Auto Mechanic Training Center (AMTraC) in Tacloban, Leyte.

Since 2008, 367 skilled individuals have completed the two-year Automotive Servicing courses.VIPs from Isuzu Motors Limited (IML) led by Administration Senior Executive Officer Hirokazu Okubo and Isuzu Shutoken Senior Executive Officer Ryuichi Shibata attended the ceremonies.
They were joined by World Vision Executive Director Rommel Fuerte, TESDA VIII Regional Director Gamaliel Vicente Jr. CESO III, TESDA Leyte Provincial Director Rolando Bade, and Tacloban City Council Member Dr. Elvira Casal.
After obtaining the highest qualification for automotive servicing, the Automotive Servicing National Certificate IV, the 16 trainees will be deployed to their respective employers Of which 4 will continue their education at Isuzu Global Service Corporation, while 12 will be assigned to various Isuzu Dealerships around the country.
Okubo encouraged the graduates to succeed in their careers and contribute to the advancement of the automotive industry in the Philippines.
“Studying and graduating from this school will earn you a full-time job in the Philippines’ auto industry. You will also increase an opportunity to work in the automotive sector around the world,” Okubo stated.
The Isuzu Heart and Smile Project aims to produce globally competitive automotive technicians who will help develop the automotive industry in the country.
The AMTraC also welcomed a new batch of trainees. 18 scholars were selected among the 600 applicants from across the region to be part of the 23rd batch of trainees.
Applicants must go through a series of tests and interviews before being officially admitted to the AMTraC, with the promise of receiving a job opportunity upon the completion of the training program.
“We at World Vision feel blessed to be entrusted with this ministry of achieving hope, joy, and justice for all children. The AMTraC is one of those programs that is born of partnership and service to the youth,” Fuerte said.

The Isuzu Heart and Smile Project, launched by IML in collaboration with the World Vision Development Foundation and TESDA aims to offer all trainees free education and accommodation in addition to career opportunities in the automotive sector after graduation and has guaranteed a 91% employment rate.
