2016 Forester may Commence its Production in the Philippines

MANILA: The 62 years old Subaru automaker stands at the position of being the 22nd based on its production. However, it is ironical that off lately we didn't get to hear much from this brand. Having so many competitors in line, who are consistently launching their new model line-ups and technological implementations, Subaru has been restrictive in its actions. The last we got to know was about the Subaru Kansha Festival that is believed to be one of the most special automobile promo event for the Philippines automotive world. On the other hand, the 2016 Forester has very recently started off its production in Malaysia at its Tan Chong Motor Assemblies.

Besides this production under consideration, Subaru also came up with an innovative safety feature of EyeSight driver assist. This can be stated to have an inspiration from the brand Volvo, which consistently endeavors to provide unique safety attributes. In general, the EyeSight driver assist is meant to cater the business professionals as well as the personal consumers. Interestingly, the 2016 version of Forester is expected to be bestowed with this safety element. Not only this model, but also Outback, Crosstrek, WRX/STI, Legacy and Impreza also fall into the same category of this technology impact. This implementation seems to be promising enough that will promote less frequency of accidents, and will bring popularity for this brand in a positive light.

With respect to technology, the Forester will highlight Subaru Starlink In-Vehicle Technology based on a 7-inch touchscreen display along with voice controlling system. In addition, it will possess Starlink safety plus and security plus packages, Premium audio, Siriusxm, HD Radio, Lineartronic CVT (high on performance with less fuel usage), All wheel drive, X-Mode and lastly the Subaru Boxer Engine. The design is based on symmetrical all-wheel drive, claims to be a partial zero emission vehicle, delivers 32 MPG fuel efficiency, has a generous storage space, and considerable ground clearance. Also, it is adorned with panoramic power moonroof that makes it all the more alluring.

As per the reports, Subaru Malaysia is all set to gather a rough range of 10,000 units on an annual basis. The sale is believed to kick off from the Month of March in the countries namely Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. We anticipate that the expansion will also take place possibly in the Philippines market soon. It is an important keynote that the vehicle is set to be in various pieces/parts that will be made to travel from Japan to Malaysia and final foregathering will take place at the TCMA plant. The Forester will stand in tough competition with the Subaru Outback, Honda CRV and Toyota RAV4.

The long term goal of this brand is determined to spread its wings in the Southeast Asian market through strong business strategies in place. With this CKD (Completely Knocked Down) production in role, we expect it to achieve the well deserved sales volume and success thereafter.
