2016 Geneva Show- Lamborghini to Launch its Hypercar “Centenario LP 770-4”
MANILA:According to a recent report by the magazine Road and Track, Lamborghini director, Stephen Winkelmann, has confirmed the launch of 800 Nm (596 Kw) hypercar at the 86th Geneva Motor Show around March, 2016. Previously, the hypercar was expected to be launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new car could be a Veneno successor.
Not much has been revealed about the vehicle yet, but it is expected that this hypercar will be equipped with a 6.5-liter V12 engine. The same engine can also be found in the Aventador SV and regular Aventador models. The company claims to produce dozen units. The new model would stand with other supercars like Bugatti Veyron, McLaren P1, Ferrari, Porsche 918 Spyder and Koenigsegg Regera. It will produce a horsepower of 1500 bhp and acceleration of 0 to 248 mi/hr i.e 400 kmph in just 20 seconds.
The hypercar will be named as Centenario LP 770-4. It will come with more aerodynamic advantage. Lamborghini's hypercar will cost around 1.12 million dollars. The rival Ferrari would increase the production of its hypercar up to few hundred units. Lamborghini adapts a good strategy by producing few units of its hypercar and thus keeping it expensive.
Meanwhile, Lamborghini has revealed the Roadster version of the Aventador LP750-4 SV in Pebble Beach. The company has limited its production to 500 units with a starting price of 500,000 euros (550,000 dollars).
Lamborghini's director, Mr. Winkelmann says “We want to showcase innovations and there are still a lot of ideas in our heads. We don't want to do concept cars for the museum and give our customers the potential to enjoy the cars on the road.”
