2016 Isuzu D-Max May Come to the Philippines
MANILA: Isuzu, a Japanese commercial vehicle manufacturer has officially revealed updates in its pickup model, the 2016 D-Max. The updates not only include the revised exterior design or improved cabin features but also possess 1.9-litre Ddi Blue Power turbo-diesel power plant which replaces the 2.5-litre motor.
The exterior updates include more aggressive fascia with tweaked grille design, reshaped headlights with LED daytime running lights, and new fog-light trim accents. The new bumper design depends on the variant chosen. The side and rear profile of the car shows 18-inch alloy wheels, shark-fin antenna and slightly altered tailgate.
The interior amendments include 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a TFT multi-information display placed between the dual gauge cluster. The interior trims are new while layout-wise the design is same.
The prominent change is the new engine, the 1.9-liter RZ4E-TC Ddi Blue Power turbo-diesel which would deliver 150 PS at 3600 rpm and 350 Nm in between 1800 and 2600 rpm. The brand claims that it will be 19% more fuel efficient and will only emit 161g of CO2 per km. The transmission options include 6-speed automatic and 6-speed manual gearbox.
The twist in the tale is the new engine is initially introduced for Thailand market only but then we soon expect it to come to Philippines as Isuzu D-Max is one hot favorite vehicle of Filipinos there and therefore the updates of it will surely receive a warm welcome in Philippines too.
