2019 BMW X7 is in the ASEAN region

MANILA: SUV and crossovers are right up there on the top-selling vehicles list. And to complete its SUV/crossover lineup in the ASEAN region, BMW, the German automobile manufacturer has brought the biggest of the lot, the X7. While the BMW X5 was already there as a great option, bigger is always better, isn’t it?

With that being said, the BMW X7 stands 5,151 mm long, 2,000 mm wide, and 1,805 mm tall. Coming to the wheelbase, the SUV has got a good 3,105 mm of wheelbase. The size comes with weight, and the BMW X7 measures 2,395-kg on the scale.

Underpinning the BMW X7 is the same platform that has already been seen in the 7 Series. Talking of the variant, BMW has offered the Thai masses the M50d xDrive. This top variant of the X7 features a 3.0-litre engine that is capable of producing a maximum power of 400 PS and 760 Nm of peak torque. Even with so much of weight, the X7 can pull off a 0-100 kmph run in a mere 5.4 seconds. BMW has also claimed a city mileage of 12.3 kmpl.

As you’d have guessed by the name, the BMW X7 M50d xDrive gets the M sports appearance package. But that is not all, as the SUV also features an upgraded suspension system. Enhancing the looks of the car are features like large faux air-intakes,

aggressive bumpers, and a bold, well, insanely bold double-kidney grille. BMW Shadowline, which is a gloss black trim can also be seen on the SUV. The BMW X7 rides on 22-inch alloys and gets large M Sport brakes. The exhaust outlets at the rear are also huge and provide the SUV with a menacing look.

With the launch of the BMW X7 in Thailand, we expect BMW Philippines to bring the SUV to the country as well. However, we are quite certain that we won’t get the top of the line model and would instead be offered the X7 30d that comes with 265 PS of power and a peak torque of 620 Nm. We hope this happens soon, though.
