2019 Genesis G90 gets a mid-cycle update in South Korea
MANILA: The recently introduced Genesis G90 is much more than a facelift for the South Korean market. The reason for the same is that Genesis has almost redesigned the car entirely and that too from all fronts (front and rear alike).
First introduced in 2016, the Genesis G90 is the flagship model in the company’s lineup. And since the interior hasn't received many revisions, the layout and designing have been kept similar to the outgoing model. However, despite not being wildly altered, the technology has been updated relatively, like the inclusion of noise cancellation and upgraded user interface on the infotainment.
Now, coming to the massive designing overhaul, the car adopts a bolder appearance to complement its estate appeal and rides on new multi-spoke 19-inch wheels. The front portion houses a prominent five-sided grille and slim LED lighting. However, what is even more attractive is that the LED strip from the headlamps extends outside its housing towards the wheel arches.
The hood cover has a couple of defining character lines running. Walking to the rear end, you will see that it is a complete take off from the outgoing version. The vertically stacked LED tail lights now make way for a new design that covers up the entire width. The exhaust tips are now given the shape of the grille (pentagon).
Apart from these details, no further information on the new Genesis G90 is known. But we can expect the mechanical aspect to remain the same as the outgoing model. More details might surface with time, bringing a clear idea on whether the mechanism would be altered or kept the same.
