2019 Honda BR-V goes official in the Philippines

MANILA: One of the popular seven-seater crossovers in the Philippines, Honda BR-V has been launched in the home market as the 2019 model. It gets a huge makeover both inside and outside. The car also gets some new features in this update and is assembled in the HCPI plant in Santa Rosa Laguna.

2019 Honda BR-V comes with a sportier appearance to make its styling contemporary. The front bumper is redesigned and there is a prouder chrome grille. The car is available in two different variants as before - 1.5V and 1.5S. The former gets LED daytime running lights, while the latter has to be happy with projector units. The 1.5V’s rear bumper is also updated and a stylish fin-type antenna has now replaced the earlier version’s roof antenna. Rounding off the exterior update, both the variants come with a new set of wheels.

The cabin has also received some modifications. The upholstery is now updated and comes with a new fabric design for the 1.5S. While the 1.5V’s interior garners a number of leather finishings. The driver will grip a leather steering wheel and there is also an automatic shifter with red baseball-style stitching hooked upon it.

Speaking of the features, both the 1.5V and the 1.5S comes with a rear-view camera, which is one of the finest addition to this update. Moreover, the infotainment unit now comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integrations. Other equipment includes anti-lock brakes, dual airbags, stability control, power windows, and central door locks.

What still remains unaltered is the 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 120 PS along with a peak torque of 145 Nm. The engine is further coupled with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that sends the power to front wheels.

As for the pricing, the 2019 Honda BR-V’s base version 1.5S comes with a price tag of PHP 1,035,000, while the top-end player 1.5V is priced at PHP 1,155,000.
