2019 Honda Brio is in the Philippines, starts at Php 585,000

MANILA: The Filipino masses have been waiting for the newest iteration of the Honda hatch from quite some time now. After all the wait, the Japanese automaker has at last launched the bigger, better, and bewitching Brio in the Philippines. The 2019 Brio comes in four variants, and the starting price is Php 585,000.

The 2019 Honda Brio very without a doubt the smallest offering by Honda in the Philippines, however, the hatch has gone on to become slightly bigger and certainly better as well. Starting off with the exterior of the hatchback, the front fascia is adorned by an upright grille that has a chunky chrome slat with the Honda logo placed at the centre. Flanking the grille is a pair of upswept headlamps, and the fog lamps reside in the faux vents on either corner of the front bumper. At the rear, the blacked-out trim is nowhere to be seen and an all-metal tailgate does the honours of providing the Brio with an appealing look. As claimed by Honda, the hatch is certainly bigger than before, and that reflects as soon as you have a glimpse of the updated car. Thanks to this bigger size, the inside of the 2019 Brio is more spacious than before.

On the inside, the 2019 Honda Brio has done away with the old circular elements and now features a much angular approach. As a matter of fact, the dashboard on the new Brio is more or less similar to what see have seen on the likes of Mobilio and Jazz. Talking about features exclusive too distinct variants of the 2019 Brio, while there are fixed headrests inside the S and V models, the RS comes equipped with adjustable ones. Other notable elements on the RS are the unique front and rear bumpers, mesh trimmings, tailgate spoiler, and special alloy wheels. The interior on the hatch is bolstered by either orange or silver linings, based on the variant you choose. Coming to the infotainment system, while the RS and the V CVT models come equipped with a touchscreen unit, the S M/T variant, on the other hand, gets a basic ingle-DIN stereo system for the entertainment.

Coming to the mechanical bits, the 2019 Honda Brio has done away with the 1.3-litre motor it used to house before. The newest model now gets its juices from a 1.2-litre i-VTEC mill that produces 90 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 110 Nm. Both the five-speed manual and continuously variable transmission units are available to choose. The 2019 Honda Brio price for the different variants is as follows:

• Brio V CVT: Php 646,000
• Brio RS CVT: Php 727,000
• Brio RS Black Top CVT: Php 732,000
