Jetour Ice Cream EV

While the cabin of the Jetour Ice Cream looks funky and modern, the overall layout of the dashboard and centre console still feels a bit basic. However, for its purpose, the cabin still feels functional, with this electric hatchback having room for four people on the inside despite its unbelievably compact size. 

The colour-coded flat-bottom multi-functional steering wheel and modern rectangular full-TFT screens for the instrument console and touchscreen infotainment system make the cabin feel youthful. The dashboard here also has sharp and slim-looking AC vents on the corners and in the centre console. The only things present in the minimalist-looking centre console are the small controls for the manual AC below the AC vents. 

There is a flat panel between the front seats, which has power window switches and a drive controller knob placed on it. The rear seats of the Jetour Ice Cream are good enough for two kids, as full-sized adults will complain about the lack of knee room and shoulder room at the rear. Even the boot space is compromised, but is decent enough for accommodating small bags. 

The sub-compact dimensions, two-door profile, and cutesy design of the Jetour Ice Cream make it an extremely eye-catching thing on wheels, with things getting interesting even more with the funky-looking colour schemes.

The compact-looking front profile of the Jetour Ice Cream has all-LED projector headlamps and U-shaped daytime running LEDs within boxy housings on the sides of the fascia. The closed rectangular grille in the middle has a small rounded rectangular cap with the charging port behind it. The Ice Cream EV doesn’t come with fog lamps as factory equipment, but there are provisions for them in the corners of the front bumper. 

The tiny and short-looking side profile of the Jetour Ice Cream EV has a flared design for the front and rear fenders and small 12-inch steel wheels with unique-looking designs for their caps. The Ice Cream EV has a two-door design with door-mounted rearview mirrors and a rising shoulder line towards the rear adding more style to it.

The rear profile of the Jetour Ice Cream EV has boxy housings for the tail lamps, which look very similar to the design of the headlamps. The almost vertical design of the rear windscreen and stubby boot lid further accentuate its compact size. 

The Jetour Ice Cream EV has a McPherson independent suspension at the front and a three-link non-independent suspension at the rear. With a light steering setup and compact dimensions, this micro all-electric car is a breeze to drive in a congested urban environment. However, the small 12-inch wheels, boxy profile and very light steering do take a toll on its driving dynamics at higher speeds.

The Jetour Ice Cream EV has a front-mounted 20kW electric motor, which generates 27 PS of maximum power output and 85 Nm of maximum torque output and gives it a top speed of 100 kmph. These figures are decent for short-distance commutes, for which this micro electric car has been designed. The Ice Cream EV also has a 13.9kWh battery, which gives it a decent range of 170 km and takes 8 hours for a full 0-100 % charge.

The Ice Cream EV comes loaded with essentials like a driver side airbag, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure alarm, reverse parking sensors, ramp assist and reverse camera. The absence of a front passenger airbag is a glaring omission. 

For the purpose of short-distance commutes, the Jetour Ice Cream EV proves to be a nice urban mobility solution with its compact dimensions, decent performance, and modern features on the inside.
