2019 Isuzu D-Max Boondock is finally here
MANILA: The fascination for pickup trucks has been gaining some momentum rapidly in recent times. With the likes of Ford Ranger, Raptor, Mitsubishi Strada, Toyota Hilux, and others gaining popularity and high sales figures, Isuzu decided to bring out an off-road ready and enhanced version of the standard D-Max.
The Japanese automobile manufacturer has now finally launched the 2019 Isuzu D-Max Boondock at its “Open House” concept at Isuzu Santa Rosa. In case you’re wondering what is Open House? Well, it is a part of the automaker’s “I Love Isuzu Campaign” and enables interested customers to witness Isuzu products and services up close.
What makes the 2019 Isuzu D-Max Boondock so good is the fact that the engineers have actually worked on the pickup after gathering feedback from the Team Isuzu Philippines and its D-MAX Club along with Team ICE. All the feedback and hard work seem to have resulted in a much improved, durable, reliable, and potent pickup truck. The upgrades on the D-Max Boondock include an enhanced ride height of 247 mm along with an overall height of 1,900 mm.
This menacing update has come thanks to the monotube nitrogen-charged performance shock absorbers. The new shocks not only provide the D-Max with an increased height and ground clearance but also allow the pickup truck to adjust according to changing road conditions, be it a butter smooth highway lane or an uneven stone laden off-road trail.
The 2019 Isuzu D-Max Boondock gets blacked-out alloy wheels which come wrapped in 265/70 R 17 all-terrain tyres. Powering the D-Max Boondock is a 4JJ1-TCX four-cylinder motor that makes 177 hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 380 Nm. This Boondock edition is based on the D-MAX 3.0L LS and gets a 4x2 drive only. Both manual and automatic transmission options are available along with Cosmic Black and Galena Gray being the two paint schemes that are on offer.
Coming to the upgrades on the outside of the pickup truck, the 2019 Isuzu D-Max Boondock gets a cargo extender, roof rail, over-fender, and a rocker panel. There are also steel side steps which get a honeycomb design and a Boondock badge.
Giving this special its own identity is the insanely large Boondock decal on the tailgate. The two variants of the new pickup truck - D-MAX 3.0 4x2 LS MT Boondock and D-MAX 3.0 4x2 LS AT Boondock have been priced at Php 1,390,000 and Php 1,455,000, respectively.
