2020 A8 is in the Philippines

MANILA: From the relatively smaller models like A1 to some big crossovers like Q7, along with the sporty S and RS models, Audi has been pouring down model after model in recent times. As always, Philippine would be made to wait for quite sometime before the newer models make their way to the country.

For now, Audi has brought for the Filipinos the 2020 A8. However, its the long-wheelbase model A8L that has landed on the Philippine shores. Upfront, the Audi A8L gets a pair of slim pair of headlamps that flank a chrome bordered grille boasting six vertical chrome slats. The Audi logo sits proudly at the centre in the top part of the grille whereas the number place is positioned just below the German automaker’s logo. There is quite a bit of chrome on the exterior of the sedan to be fair.

The front bumper also gets its fair share of chrome in and around the fog lamp housings. Moreover, there is a continuous chrome strip that runs around the sedan including the doors, rear bumper, and front bumper. Looking from the side, a few character lines and chrome on the windows complete the elegant look of the Audi A8. Moving on to the rear end, we find a pair of stylish slim taillamps conjoined by both led and chrome strips.

On the inside, the Audi A8 is as luxurious and sophisticated as it is on the outside. A brand new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system can be used for both controlling the entertainment and mechanical settings of the sedan. Audi Virtual Cockpit is also present on the sedan, which can also be used as a multi-information display that can display stuff like navigation. As expected, the climate controls are also touch operated and there are no clicky old-school buttons.

Moving on to the mechanical front, the Philippine-spec Audi A8L gets its dose from a 3.0-litre V6 gasoline-fed motor that makes 340 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 500 Nm. Both the all-wheel-drive and hybrid tech are present on the sedan along with an active air suspension. The Audi A8L in the form of a luxury sedan is for sure a treat too delicious to miss out on, isn’t it?
