A sporty lower air dam and a glossy black mesh, along with all-LED eyebrow-shaped headlamps, enhance its aggressive stance. Its aggressive stance is accentuated by chrome window trims and 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. In its modern cabin layout, the MG GT seamlessly blends sophistication and sportiness. It is offered in three interior color combinations: black and beige, all-black, red and black. The dashboard comprises a multifunctional three-spoke steering wheel, complemented by a 12.3-inch full-TFT instrument console, providing important driving information in an accessible and clear way. GT Exterior
The MG GT is an absolute head turned from front to rear, with it wearing a distinctive fastback-like design comprising elements like a sloping roofline and prominent curves all around.
The front profile of the MG GT looks aggressive, with it having a Maserati-esque grille that sits a bit lower and makes the car look wider with its horizontally stretched design. This aggressive-looking grille has a gloss black mesh design across its width, with it also having satin silver-themed extensions on the sides.
Apart from the grille, the front fascia also gets L-shaped air curtains on the sides of the front bumper. The sporty-looking lower air dam below the grille and eye-brow-shaped all-LED headlamps further elevate the aggressiveness in the design of the MG GT.
From the side, the MG GT looks fast even at a standstill, courtesy of its dramatically sloping roofline. However, with its four-door look, the GT still has the appearance of a traditional sedan. The MG GT has a planted stance with gorgeous-looking 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and lower ground clearance, with the car also having chrome surrounds for the window frames for an added premium touch.
The MG GT has a dramatically sloping rear roofline that also includes a steep windscreen and ends up with a wide-looking boot lid with an integrated spoiler. The sportiness of the rear profile of the MG GT is guaranteed by the large C-shaped air curtains and dual exhaust ports.
MG GT Mileage Running Cost
Fuel economy of an automobile is its efficiency to run in relation to the amount of fuel consumed by it, and thus forms an important matter to be looked into before buying a car. MG GT is offered in two distinct engine options, NSE 1.5 DVVT, and SGE 1.4 TGI. The 1.5-litre engine comes with a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic transmission displays a combined fuel consumption of 5.9L per 100 km and 6.2L per 100 km respectively. While all the three 1.4-litre engine options deliver fuel consumption of 5.9L per 100 km. All the trim levels though have a different diet for fuel but are fitted with the same 55-litre capacity of fuel tank.
GT Ride & Handling
The slightly stiff suspension setup comprising Macpherson struts at the front and a torsional beam at the rear of the MG GT gives it a driving experience as dynamic and thrilling as its overall exterior appearance. The sense of sharpness and composure in its driving dynamics is further assisted by the low ground clearance of 145mm and 17-inch alloy wheels.
MG GT Engine & Fuel Consumption
There are two powertrain options on offer for the MG GT in the Philippines. The Alpha variant gets a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol that makes 111 PS of maximum power and 150 Nm of maximum torque and is paired with a CVT. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine available in the Sport variant produces a maximum power output of 159 PS and a maximum torque output of 250 Nm and is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
GT Braking & Safety
The safety features that come standard in the MG GT are six airbags, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability program, hill hold assist, electronic parking brake, 360-degree parking camera, lane departure warning, front collision warning and tyre pressure monitoring system.
MG GT Verdict
The MG GT has a dynamic and aggressive fastback-like design, which is further complemented by its sharp driving dynamics and punchy petrol engine options, making this fastback a driver’s delight with affordable pricing.
