2020 Mazda MX-5 - What’s on offer

Mazda Philippines aims to bring back the MX-5's worldwide acclaim with the introduction of the 2020 Mazda MX-5 in the local automotive landscape. With more than three decades of delivering pure driving excitement under its belt, the Mazda MX-5 brings back the thrill of driving with its new and improved exterior paired with the Japanese car manufacturer’s SKYACTIV engine technology.
To date, the fourth-generation 2020 Mazda MX-5 is by far the lightest and the most compact sports coupe in its line having adopted Mazda’s new KODO – Soul of Motion design principles. By outfitting the new Mazda MX-5 with more aluminum in its body panels, Mazda’s engineers were able to reduce its original weight by 100 kilograms allowing it to live up to its promise of thrilling road experience.

The weight of the all-new Mazda MX-5 varies per variant. At the time of this writing, the 2020 Mazda MX-5 is currently offered in two variants, a 2.0L SKYACTIV MT and a 2.0L SKYACTIV AT. Both soft-top convertibles draw power from its rear. The 2.0L SKYACTIV AT weighs at about 1,070 kg while the 2.0L SKYACTIV MT weighs at around 1,040 kg mainly because of the weight of the transmission of the SKYACTIV engine is married to.
The two-door, two-seater sports coupe shares dimensional similarities across the board with the exception of the weight with a difference of 30 kg.

The 2020 Mazda MX-5 is outfitted with a slew of safety features for a convertible including anti-lock braking coupled with electronic brake-force distribution, it's also equipped with dynamic stability control giving the fourth-generation MX-5 impeccable driving control and comfort. The sports coupe is also equipped with two airbags at the front and at the side reducing the force of impact in the event of a collision. Convenience amenities are also present in the 2020 Mazda MX-5 specs sheet such as smart keyless entry and a rear parking sensor when the soft top is activated.
Although they share quite the features, the 2.0L SKYACTIV AT offers additional technological feats including a rearview camera and Mazda’s i-ACTIVSENSE. The i-ACTIVSENSE provides the 2.0L SKYACTIV AT variant advanced safety features like lane departure warning and smart city brake support.
Nevertheless, both variants are equipped with Mazda’s special features including i-STOP engine idling stop technology as well as Mazda’s i-ELOOP regenerative braking technology for better control and handling while driving.

The price is justified by how much the interior between variants is laid out.
To begin with, the manual variant is outfitted with black fabric seats, leather-wrapped shift knob and parking lever knob, MZD Connect audio system with aux-in, USB, Bluetooth, & smartphone mirroring technology as well as Bluetooth hands-free technology. Audio is delivered via six speakers bestrewn around the coupe.
The automatic variant sports the same interior details with the exception of premium leather seats, a DVD audio system, nine BOSE sound system speakers, an automatic single-zone climate control feature, and auto-dimming rearview mirrors.
