2020 Nissan Almera to come out in flesh on November 13

MANILA: With the next-generation Toyota Vios already out in the market and the revamped Honda City is all set to arrive at the scene soon enough. It was high time for Nissan to bring out its updated Almera. And, the Japanese automobile manufacturer is about to do just that by revealing the all-new 2020 Almera on November 13, later this week. Earlier this year, Nissan unveiled the US-spec Versa, and the same sedan will pave the foundation for the ASEAN region's Almera.

2020 Nissan Almera teaser

Alongside making its ASEAN debut on November 13, 2019, the next-generation Nissan Almera might also step on the podium at the Thailand International Motor Expo, which is set to transpire in 2020. Also, Nissan has rolled out a 16-second long video teaser of the upcoming Almera to give us a glimpse of the sedan.

Speaking of the equipment that the 2020 Nissan Almera will have onboard, expect the ASEAN-spec Almera to be very similar to the US-spec Versa. With that said, the soon to be revealed 2020 Nissan Almera should flaunt the signature V-Motion grille, LED DRLs, and wrap-around taillamps.

2020 Nissan Almera side

The new Almera should also come equipped with all the latest and greatest features of the segment like automatic climate control, push-button start/stop, keyless smart entry, and many others. However, high-end features like automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and heated seats might not make it to the ASEAN Almera.

On the mechanical front, the powertrain options may include a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine and a 1.5-litre inline-four motor. If we go by the rumours, the new Almera might also get a 1.0-litre turbocharged inline-three that makes 100 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 144 Nm. While the transmission options remain a mystery,

speculations suggest that the four-speed automatic gearbox might find itself making way for a CVT unit. So, it will be on November 13, 2019, when the 2020 Nissan Almera come out in the flesh to flood the subcompact sedan segment and take on the Honda City, Toyota Vios, and other similar offerings.
