2023 Lexus GX 460 boasts sophisticated style, smart tech

MANILA: The Lexus GX 460 is built with the versatility that contemporary luxury SUVs require. It is well-equipped for almost every situation, thanks to the perfect balancing act of sophistication and amazing capability. The Lexus GX offers three rows of seating with accommodation for up to seven people as standard. Most importantly, the Lexus GX is built with the same level of excellence, craftsmanship, and attention to detail as other Lexus models.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers the Lexus GX 460?

The Lexus GX 460 is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 engine that generates 301hp and 329lb-ft of torque.
  • What are the features included in the Lexus Safety System+?

Lexus Safety System+ includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Intelligent High Beams, and High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.
  • The 2023 Lexus GX 460 comes with significant updates. Eminent White Pearl replaces Starfire Pearl in the exterior color scheme, while Claret Mica is removed. The Luxury grade also gets a major upgrade with the inclusion of Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound Audio as standard.

The Lexus GX 460 provides a highly connected and smart in-cabin experience with its 10.3-inch multimedia touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa with the latest smartphone vehicle integrations and their respective virtual assistants. The premium connected technology also includes a three-year trial of Lexus Enform Remote, which allows the driver to  start the engine remotely using smart devices. Additionally, the Lexus GX has six USB ports so that both the driver and the passengers may have their mobile devices charged while on the road.

The luxurious Lexus GX 460 is a dual-purpose vehicle that can be used for both short work commutes and long family vacations. Every Lexus GX is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 engine that generates 301hp and 329lb-ft of torque. It has  a towing capacity of up to 6,500 lbs. Towing is supported by Trailer Sway Control, a function of the Vehicle Stability Control that improves straight-line tracking.

The Lexus GX features a sophisticated style and a commanding presence, a modern front fascia with Premium Triple-Beam LED headlights, and optional 19-inch wheels. This luxury utility vehicle exceeds all expectations with exceptional craftsmanship, remarkable details, and an impressive blend of comfort and capability.

The Lexus GX uses Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) technology to help maintain the vehicle level both on- and off-road, improving handling and ride comfort. One compressed cylinder allows fluid to flow to the other cylinder when the Lexus GX faces an uneven surface, assisting the vehicle in keeping all four wheels on the ground. The driver does not need to take any action to make the system work.

The Lexus GX's optional Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) is another feature for on-road smoothness. The electronically controlled dampers used by the AVS adapt to the road condition. This can be customized by selecting among the Normal, Sport, or Comfort modes.

A Torsen torque-sensing limited slip center differential distributes power 40:60 front to rear and modifies the ratio as needed depending on wheel slip. The four-wheel drive system has a low range for slow speed off-road driving, and the middle differential can be electronically locked.

A wide range of chassis control technologies support the two-speed transfer case with low range. The Lexus GX can confidently traverse dirt roads, trails, and steep inclines, thanks to its Downhill Assist Control (DAC), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Active Traction Control (A-TRAC), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and optional Crawl Control.

The Off-Road Package, which is available on the Luxury grade, strengthens GX's already strong set of capabilities when the pavement ends. The package includes tried-and-tested off-road technologies like Lexus' Multi-Terrain Monitor, which uses cameras on the driver and passenger to provide hard-to-see views of the surrounding terrain. It also has Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, a fuel tank Protector, and a transmission cooler.

Multi-Terrain Select lets the driver select from a variety of terrain such as loose rocks, mud and sand, moguls, and more to optimize drivability. By automatically regulating the engine throttle and brakes, this cutting-edge system controls wheelspin, which helps increase traction. Demanding off-road conditions also call for constant attention to one's surroundings. The Multi-Terrain Monitor and Panoramic View Monitors give the most dedicated off-road driver peace of mind by allowing front passengers to view front, rear, side, and now under camera views on the navigation screen.

The optional Crawl Control system, which is activated with just a press of a button, is intended to automatically maintain an ideal slow and steady pace on bumpy roads. Crawl Control, which has five low-speed settings, automatically regulates the brakes and throttle, allowing drivers to concentrate on steering over rough terrain.

The front and rear "virtual" Locking differentials are also enabled by Crawl Control to lessen tire slippage and improve chassis behavior. The driver can use Crawl Control to guide the vehicle through mud, snow, or sand.

The Lexus GX 460 is built to accommodate modern families and is designed to get them where their adventures take them in luxury and style.

The addition of the Lexus Safety System+ suite of technologies strengthens this mission. Lexus Safety System+ includes  Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Intelligent High Beams, and High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. The Lexus GX 460 also comes standard with Intuitive Parking Assist.

Last year, the Lexus GX received Black Line Special Edition treatment for the first time. It is back for the 2023 model year, with new features and unique luxury touches that are sure to draw attention. The 2023 Black Line SE, built on the Premium grade and limited to 3,000 units, will include a Panoramic View Monitor as standard equipment to give drivers a bird's-eye view of the vehicle and the surroundings.

The skid plate, fog lamp, grille, and clear tail lamps with black inserts all have a darker finish. Unique 18-inch glossy black wheels are also included. The shark fin and roof spoiler are also painted black.

New seats with Boulder Gray NuLuxe trim and a black headliner complement the interior, which also features gray stitching and Black Matte Ash Wood ornamentation on the steering wheel.
