2023 Maserati Levante GT Hybrid arrives in Malaysia

MANILA: After being launched here in the Philippines last year, Maserati has officially launched the 2023 Maserati Levante GT Hybrid in Malaysia.

The 2023 Maserati Levante GT Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder internal combustion engine paired to a 48-volt hybrid system with a Belt Start Generator, battery, e-Booster, and a DC/DC converter. The e-Booster operates together with the turbocharger and provides power at low engine speeds and an additional boost through the battery and BSG system. In Sport mode, the engine operates at optimum capacity to maximize performance, while in Normal mode, it maintains a balance between efficiency and output.

The system generates a total output of 330hp and a maximum torque of 450Nm at 2,250rpm. Having 20 less horsepower than the Maserati Levante with a V6 engine, the 2023 Maserati Levante GT Hybrid delivers 20% less fuel consumption.

The 2023 Maserati Levante GT Hybrid also comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100kph in six seconds and reach a top speed of 245kph.

Due to the placement of the battery in the rear and the engine up front, the hybrid vehicle weighs less than the V6 version. The compact hybrid system weighs 20kg less than the pure internal combustion engine system, resulting in an improved 50:50 weight distribution and making the vehicle even easier to control and more enjoyable to drive.

The 2023 Maserati Levante GT Hybrid features the new brand logo on the bonnet and C-pillar, as well as restyling badging on the rear. Above the three air intakes on the side profile is a trim level badge with the letters “GT” in it.

The Alfieri concept car served as the inspiration for the 2023 Maserati Levante GT Hybrid's imposing front grille, which also pays homage to classic Maserati models like the Tipo 60 Birdcage. Other notable exterior features include the full-LED Adaptive Matrix headlights, chrome-plated accents, and 20-inch alloy wheels.

The five-seater Maserati Levante GT Hybrid's cabin boasts a great fusion of elegance and innovation, providing drivers with a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience. It has an 8.4-inch Touchscreen MTC+ that makes it easy to manage the music, climate, and navigation. The leather seats provide great comfort and support, and the Piano Black trim gives the interior a stylish yet sporty vibe.

“The design concept of the Levante combines coupe lines with interior space for five people and exceptional aerodynamic efficiency. The Levante GT Hybrid remains the ‘Maserati of SUVs’ through and through, including its sound that retains the usual characteristics of any other Trident-brand car, despite being a hybrid. The sound is achieved with no use of amplifiers, solely by acting on the fluid dynamics of the exhausts and using resonators, tuned to produce that characteristic sound. From the moment you get into a hybrid Maserati onwards, you still hear the unmistakable sound of a Maserati engine,” Naza Italia Chief Operating Officer Farid Sulaiman stated.

To guarantee a safe driving experience, a remarkable set of advanced driver assistance systems is included in the new Levante GT Hybrid. This includes Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Surround View Camera, Active Blind Spot Assist, Highway Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Forward Collision Warning Plus, and Hill Descent Control.

Pricing of the 2023 Maserati Levante GT Hybrid in Malaysia starts at RM738,000 (approximately P9.2 million). Every purchase comes with a three-year standard warranty with no mileage cap.
