2023 Nissan X-Trail e-Power launches in Singapore, should it come to PH, too?

MANILA: The Nissan X-Trail e-Power SUV — which was unveiled at the Singapore Motorshow 2023 and has since evolved with its latest model incorporating cutting-edge innovations, potent performance, and a more opulent interior setting — is now on the market in Singapore.

“As announced in Nissan Ambition 2030, Nissan aims to drive towards a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive world through our products and services,” the Japanese carmaker said in a previous release. “With this in mind, we are electrifying major models, with the X-Trail for the Japan market becoming a dedicated e-Power model with e-4orce an option. The new X-Trail will play an important role in leading our electrification.”

Even as the two crossovers feature the e-Power gasoline-electric powertrain, the X-Trail stands as a larger crossover offering alongside the 2023 Nissan Kicks e-Power.

2023 Nissan X-Trail E-Power

The platform of the 2023 Nissan X-Trail has been fully reworked to increase stiffness while reducing body weight. By isolating the cabin from engine and road noise, a high level of cabin quietness has been attained.

The second-generation e-Power system, which offers enhanced power, smoothness, and quietness, is included with the 2023 Nissan X-Trail. The gasoline engine of the system, which is the first mass-produced variable compression ratio engine in history, generates energy.

E-4orce reduces tire slippage and permits smooth starting and driving even in slick circumstances by always ensuring maximum traction.

The front and rear motors control regenerative balance during acceleration to steady the movement of the vehicle and provide a comfortable ride for the driver and passengers. The high-output motors produce forceful yet smooth acceleration that makes merging onto expressways simple. They react promptly to the application of pressure to the accelerator pedal.

2023 Nissan X-Trail e-Power Safety Features

A multitude of safety technologies are included in the 2023 Nissan X-Trail to support driving in various scenarios.

The Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection continuously scans the area around the vehicle with cameras, radar, and sonar, initiating safety measures as necessary.

Rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure warning systems assist the driver in maintaining awareness and preventing potential collisions. When an accident is about to happen, an emergency braking system immediately engages.
