2024 BMW X5 and X6 to debut in US next month

MANILA: The next-gen BMW X5 Sports Activity Vehicle and BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupe are defined by new styling cues, additional standard features, universal electrification, and digital technology advancements.

The 2024 X5 and X6 will make their debut at The Amelia Concours d'Elegance that will be held in Florida, USA in March.

The 2024 BMW X5's front fascia is distinguished by a new design for the kidney grille and signature BMW headlamps. The redesigned headlamp units have outlines that are 35 millimeters slimmer. Its arrow-shaped daytime driving light elements point outwards and also serve as turn signal indicators.

The BMW kidney grille is now surrounded by sculpted surfaces, giving the front end a more contemporary look. The 2024 BMW X5's width is highlighted by vertical air curtains placed at the edges, while the lower air intake has a new horizontal trim detail and triangular apertures along its edges.

Redesigned rear lights with striking contours of fiber-optic light elements adorn the rear of the 2024 BMW X5.

The BMW X6, on the other hand, pioneered the Sports Activity Coupe segment, and even in its third generation, it maintains a strong athletic character and commanding presence. The sharp contour lines and long, sweeping roofline combine to provide a dynamically stretched impression.

Just like the BMW X5, the 2024 BMW X6 has slim headlamp units with arrow-shaped daytime driving lights. The now-standard M Sport package, which is characterized by an octagonal design element below the BMW kidney grille, large side apertures, and a generous application of black surfaces, further emphasizes the 2024 BMW X6's dynamic character.

M High-gloss Shadowline trim and M Side Skirts further highlight the 2024 BMW X6's athletic nature. The muscular shoulder lines and taut surface of the flanks effortlessly flow into a powerful design at the rear. The slim tail lights extend into the tailgate, and the brake light and rear light bars' L-shape characterize their light signature.

The 2024 BMW X5 and 2024 BMW X6 come equipped with 20-inch wheels wrapped in all-season runflat tires. Performance runflat tires are available in a 21-inch size, while performance non-runflat tires are available in a 22-inch size. Customers can also choose from Standard, M, and BMW Individual alloy wheels available in 20-, 21-, and 22-inch sizes.

The highlight of the interior of the 2024 BMW X5 and 2024 BMW X6 is the fully digital BMW Curved Display. It consists of a 12.3-inch information display behind the steering wheel and a 14.9-inch control display, both of which are concealed behind a single piece of glass. The BMW control display's touch control functionality has significantly reduced the amount of buttons and controls in favor of using digital control for various functions.

The 2024 BMW X5 and 2024 BMW X6 provide a new dimension of assisted driving with the new Highway Assistant feature that is part of the optional Driving Assistance Professional Package. It allows the driver to take their hands off the wheel when traveling at up to 136kph on limited access highways, however, the driver must always keep their attention on the road ahead and be ready to take over steering.

More assistance when parking and navigating is also provided. The standard Reversing Assistant provides the option of automated reversing in tight spaces or situations where the driver does not have a clear view, such as in multi-story parking garages or narrow, curving driveways. The vehicle can remember the steering movements for any section that it has just passed at no more than 35kph. The system may then drive the vehicle back along the same path to reverse it for a distance of up to 50 meters.

The driver may also control maneuvers into and out of particularly tight parking spaces from outside the vehicle using the My BMW App on their smartphone. This feature is available for iPhones with iOS 16.2 or newer.

The full suite of BMW Charging services is also integrated into the My BMW App. For instance, the high-voltage battery of the vehicle can now be remotely charged through a smartphone. The charge level the battery is anticipated to have reached by their preferred departure time can be displayed in the app. Charging can be initiated or stopped at any moment through My BMW App, regardless of the charge level.

Production of the 2024 BMW X5 and 2024 BMW X6 will begin in April at the BMW Group Plant in South Carolina.

The 2024 BMW X5 is priced from $65,200 to $89,300 (approximately P3.5 million to P4.8 million), while the 2024 BMW X6 retails for $73,900 to $93,600 (approximately P4 million to P5.1 million).
