2024 PEVS: VinFast PH officially launches VF 7

MANILA: VinFast Philippines has officially launched the VF 7, a midsize electric sport utility vehicle (SUV).

“The VF 7 is one of the boldest and most innovative models in VinFast’s extensive electric vehicle lineup. Our goal is more than just launching a new vehicle. We are inspiring a way of life centered around sustainability, promoting environmentally conscious and energy-efficient habits. By offering our products, we hope to partner with the Philippines in advancing a shared vision of a sustainable future and playing an active role in the global mission to cut carbon emissions,” VinFast Philippines Chief Executive Officer Cao Ngoc Nguyen Duy said. 

The local arm of the Vietnamese automotive brand is offering the low-slung five-seater in two variants, Standard and Plus. The former is equipped with a single electric motor while the latter gets one on each of its axles.

Electric powertrain

Per VinFast Philippines, the front-wheel drive model can generate up to 174 horsepower (hp) with 250 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque, while the all-wheel drive variant can push the figures up to 348 hp with 500 Nm of pulling power.

The Standard variant of the VinFast VF 7 packs a 59.6 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery while the range-topping model comes with a 75.3 kWh pack. The base model has an estimated driving range of 375 kilometers (km) while the top-of-the-line variant takes it up a notch by going as far as 431 km in a single charge.

Exterior, interior features

Its notable exterior features include automatic LED headlamps, LED taillamps, 20-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles, a power tailgate, and underbody airshields.

Inside, would-be owners can expect to get a leather steering wheel, vegan leather seats, a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, a wireless charging dock, and a dual-zone automatic air conditioning system with a cabin filtration system.

Chassis

The VinFast VF 7 is equipped with MacPherson independent struts at the front and a control-blade suspension system at the rear. Stopping power comes from disc brakes, front and back.

Pricing

Below is the pricing of the VinFast VF 7:

VinFast VF 7 Standard	P1.76 million
VinFast VF 7 Plus	P2.38 million

Like other VinFast models, the VF 7 is also available with a battery subscription program. This cuts the price of the standard variant to P1.470 million and the Plus trim to P1.730 million.

PEVS 2024

The 12th edition of PEVS kicks off today (Thursday) and will run until October 26 (Saturday) at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
