MANILA: Signaling the start of its retail in the country, ACMobility has launched the Kia EV9 at the opening day of the 9th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).

What can customers expect from the PH-spec EV9
Serving as Kia’s flagship offering, the EV9 measures 5,015 millimeters (mm) long,1,980 mm wide, and 1,780 mm tall with a 177-mm ground clearance and 3,100-wheelbase that enjoys futuristic styling and comprehensive amenities.
The model’s bold styling is complemented by the digital tiger face, Star Map Small Cube Projection LED headlights, intelligent front lighting system, auto-flush door handles, and digital side mirrors.
Offered in GT-Line trim, the Kia EV9 GT-Line sits on 21-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 285/45 tires.
“The launch of the Kia EV9, an award-winning vehicle recognized globally, underscores our commitment to enhancing the lives of our customers through innovative and electrifying new solutions,” Kia Philippines Chief Operating Officer Brian Buendia said.
“We began our journey of electrification with the Kia EV6, and now with the Kia EV9, we are poised to take a leading role in the shift towards electrified mobility in the automotive industry,” he noted.
Inside the Kia EV9’s cabin are a pair of 12.3-inch displays — one is the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system. The latter comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities mated to a 14-speaker Meridian Surround Sound setup.
Other modern fitments that can be seen in the vehicle’s interior include a digital center mirror, elegant suede-lined interior, dual sunroof, slim air vents, hidden haptic touch buttons, and an intuitive center console.
The three-row space comes in 2+2+2 seating configuration covered in premium leather seats made from sustainable and recycled materials.
In addition, the front premium relaxation chairs get eight-way power while second row seats have massage functions. The power-folding third-row bench can 50:50 split.
Similar to the EV6, the Kia EV9 also has a vehicle-to-load function.
Powering the vehicle is Kia EV9’s dual electric motors that can provide 379 horses and 700 Newton-meters of torque — allowing the vehicle to sprint zero to 100 kilometers per hour in five seconds. The SUV offers Normal, Sport, and Eco driving modes, and its all-wheel drive enhances performance for everyday commutes and adventures.
The powertrain is connected to a 99.8 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery with smart regenerative system with I-pedal stop that gives it a range of up to 505 kilometers.
An 11-kilowatt (kw) AC can fully charge the battery in less than 10 hours- while the 50-kw DC option, in under two hours.
The Kia EV9 boasts the marque’s DriveWise suite of safety systems that include smart cruise control, blind spot collision avoidance assist, and a blind view monitor. Additional features such as Forward Collision Avoidance Assist 2.0, Safe Exit Assist, and a 360-degree Surround View Monitor.
Moreover, its passive safety technologies are composed of 10 airbags, a multi-collision brake system, electronic stability control, hill-start assist control, and an anti-theft system.
Available in Ocean Blue, Snow White Pearl, and Aurora Black Pearl color options, the Kia EV9 GT-Line is priced at P5.888 million. The said amount includes a five-year or 160,000-kilometer vehicle warranty and an eight-year or 160,000-km warranty for the electric motor and battery.
