An NA V12 powers the US$3-M Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 supercar
MANILA: Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) completely revealed the T.50 supercar for the first time. It showcased the finished interior and exterior design as it highlighted the revolutionary technical details. The T.50 has been planned to become the lightest, purest, and most driver-focused supercar of the auto company.
With his first ballpoint drawings to every aspect of design and engineering, Murray advised and supervised the GMA team and suppliers to boost the project forward at a steady pace.
The design of Murray for T.50 was the 50th among a prominent line of road and race cars that he has kept throughout his memorable 50-year career; and such reasons have been combined to name the vehicle T.50.
The most prominent features of the exterior design of the T.50 are its balance and purity, as it is free from unsightly vents, skirts, and wings that embellish the most contemporary supercars.
Clean surfaces are made possible through the most sophisticated and efficient aerodynamics ever observed on a road vehicle. This leads to intentionally beautiful and simple lines as well as a seamless look.
The simplicity of the profile is disrupted significantly as the pair of dihedral doors move up and forward to remain above the passenger cabin.
The T.50 also seeks to bring an unrivaled driving experience through its 100% custom-built 3.9-liter V12 engine that produces a power output of 654hp. It features the most efficient and innovative aerodynamics ever seen on a vehicle.
Inside, the driver-centered approach can be seen from the main, jet fighter-like driving position to the airplane-like secondary and primary controls, which are configured in an “ergonomic bubble” around the driver.
The simplicity of the visual elements, highest precision, and quality of the materials characterize the entire vehicle, but it is more apparent within the cockpit.
In addition, daily usability is evident through the vehicle interior’s practicality, refinement, comfort, and adequate luggage space.
From the exceptional engine and the superb lightweight transmission to the world's first aerodynamic kit and the feather-light titanium throttle pedal, every feature is 100% designed and developed efficiently. Murray pushed each manufacturer to their limits to provide new levels of lightness, the highest quality, and innovation.
Each T.50 customer has a chance to meet Murray to talk about their car and customize it both on its exterior and interior. Part of such a method involves pedals, a steering wheel, and a seat “fitting” session, which is tailored to every owner to guarantee that the T.50 is ergonomically bespoke and flawless for every conscientious customer.
Murray also aimed to exceed all others through the vehicle that he has designed, thereby promoting new levels of connection and pride among vehicle owners.
Muray explained, “Just 100 customers will share my vision, a car created to improve on the F1 formula in every conceivable way. With 30 years of technological and systems advancement, now, the time is right to design the greatest analogue driver’s car. I believe no other company could deliver what we will bring to market in 2022, producing this British supercar will be my proudest moment.”
Working to improve on his celebrated McLaren F1 "in every conceivable way," Professor Gordon Murray CBE also noted that he is spearheading the group that will start producing 100 limited-edition customer versions of the 986 kg supercar by January 2022 at the GMA production facility.
