Artwork from actual feathers featured in Rolls-Royce Phantom 'gallery'

MANILA: Rolls-Royce unveiled its newest bespoke feature, the Phantom “Iridescent Opulence,” in Abu Dhabi.

Highlighting the luxury car is a built-in "art gallery" which is integrated on the dashboard. The Phantom’s gallery features the “Iridescent Opulence,” crafted by Swiss design brand Nature Squared. The art piece features over 3,000 actual tail feathers from sustainable bird species.

The Iridescent Opulence is a significant exhibition of art, design, and engineering excellence. The artwork is displayed on a glass space fabricated by the Rolls-Royce design team on the Phantom’s dashboard. Rolls-Royce named this space “The Gallery,” which was assembled in an uncontaminated area at the home of Rolls-Royce in England.

“The Gallery in the Rolls-Royce Phantom is a unique space that provides the perfect stage to showcase artworks,” said Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Brand Manager for Middle East and Africa Cesar Habib. “‘Iridescent Opulence’ by Nature Squared is a brilliant example of what can be commissioned and displayed in that space. I’m delighted to unveil Phantom with the ‘Iridescent Opulence’ Gallery here in Abu Dhabi with our partners Abu Dhabi Motors.”

Nature Squared has chosen to incorporate the art piece on the Phantom’s gallery to accentuate the vehicle’s luxurious and opulent aesthetic. The multicolored tail feathers were meticulously formed to simulate a bird’s wing. Also mounted on The Gallery is an analog clock with a mother of pearl surround.
