Astara PH inaugurates JMC Butuan

MANILA: Astara Philippines has formally inaugurated Jiangling Motors Corporation’s (JMC) second dealership in Mindanao.

Located at Samping’s Place, J.C. Aquino Avenue in Butuan City, the newly-opened outlet is operated by multi-brand distributor Globalcars Incorporated.

JMC Butuan also serves as the second JMC outlet in the country since Astara Philippines relaunched the marque at the Manila International Auto Show 2024 last April.

“The launching of our second JMC Philippines showroom, just two days after our first one in Davao, shows the great interest and demand for this exciting brand,” JMC Philippines Sales Director Michael John del Pilar was quoted as saying.

“JMC Butuan offers our valued customers in Mindanao with an additional location to see and experience our high-quality pickups. We are proud to offer vehicles that provide Filipinos with reliable mobility and class-leading features,” he added.

For his part, JMC Butuan President Jun Osin praised the carmaker’s initiative of further expanding in Mindanao.

JMC Butuan dealership is ready to offer to customers its full roster made up of the two pick-up trucks: Grand Avenue and Vigus — both offered in 4x2 and 4x4 configurations.

With retail price starting at P1.221 million, the JMC Grand Avenue is fitted with leather upholstery, automatic climate control, electronically-adjustable front seats and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Powering the vehicle is a 2.3-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline-four Puma turbocharged diesel engine that can dish out a maximum of 175 horsepower (hp) and 450 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. It is paired with either a six-speed MAGNA manual or an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.

On the other hand, the JMC Vigus is equipped with a 2.5-liter, twin-cam, 16-valve inline four turbo diesel powerplant that can deliver up to 128 hp and 315 Nm. It is matched to a five-speed manual gearbox.

With a starting price of P959,000, the said model was designed to be a versatile solution for business needs.

All JMC models are packaged with a five-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty (whichever comes first), a lifetime engine warranty for complete peace of mind, and free 24/7 roadside assistance for the first year.
