Astara PH to bring in JMC Grand Avenue

MANILA: Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) is set to introduce the Grand Avenue to the Philippine market.

Per Astara Philippines, the JMC Grand Avenue will officially be revealed at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show set on April 4-7.

Currently the biggest in the segment locally, the Chinese pick-up truck will serve as the brand’s flagship model in the country.

In a statement, JMC Philippines claimed that the Grand Avenue combines power, strength, dependability, and a whole lot of excitement that sets a higher bar for innovation and performance in the world of pickups.

Although the details shared by Astara Philippines only served as teasers, here are the following information about the pick-up truck abroad.

Overseas, the arriving model is 5,450 millimeters (mm) long; 1,935 mm wide; and 1,872 mm tall with a 3,270 mm wheelbase — which will make it the biggest in its class as soon as it arrives in the Philippines. Meanwhile, its cargo bed is 1,546 mm long; 1,595 mm wide; and 546 mm deep.

Among the notable exterior features of the boxy JMC Grand Avenue are the square-shaped LED clearance lights and LED daytime running lights to match the design of the front fascia, quadrangular wheel arches, 15-cm side steps, and doors that swing open up to 75 degrees, among others.

Inside, the aforementioned model in other countries come with keyless entry and push start button; 10-inch touchscreen display with Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity (mated to a four-speaker set-up); 3.5-inch digital cluster gauge, and leather steering wheel with paddle shifters.

Since JMC’s local arm mentioned that the upcoming Grand Avenue is fitted with diesel mill, Zigwheels Philippines is guessing that the engine equipped on the Philippine-spec version would be a 2.3-liter Puma turbo diesel engine that is capable of dishing out 175 horses and 450 Newton-meters of pulling power. It will be paired with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission (but banking more on the latter).
