Aston Martin introduces DBX707 luxury SUV in Manila, starts at P33.5-M

MANILA: What is touted to be the most powerful luxury SUV — the 2023 Aston Martin DBX707 — was recently introduced to the country by Aston Martin Manila.

“From its trademark luxurious fittings to the boosted turbo engine, the DBX707 takes our discerning clientele to the next level, and it is an honor for us to bring this to the Philippine market,” Aston Martin Manila Chairman and President Marc Louie Tagle was quoted as saying in a report by this website’s sibling title, carmudi.com.ph.

The 2023 Aston Martin DBX707 is built on the V8 DBX's widely praised design, performance, and driver-pleasing personality. The automobile has been enhanced in every way to boost performance, driving enjoyment, and on-road presence.

The goal of Aston Martin's engineers was to make the DBX's 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 perform to its maximum capability. The DBX707's engine boasts unique engine tuning and ball bearing turbochargers to produce higher power and torque. A nine-speed "wet clutch" automatic transmission, which can manage substantially more torque loadings than a typical torque converter automatic, is also included with the high-performance SUV. The 4.0-liter V8's output is increased to a staggering 707ps and 900Nm with this transmission.

There are extra benefits to using the new wet clutch transmission. Compared to a torque converter transmission, the gear changes happen far more quickly. The driver feels more in charge and responsive as a result of the shift's increased speed and directness. The DBX707 now has a 3.3-second zero-to-100kph time due to improved launch capabilities.

The Aston Martin DBX707 comes with carbon ceramic brakes as standard as part of a variety of performance enhancements. There is a 40.5-kg decrease in unsprung weight as a result of these discs, which have dimensions of 420 mm up front and 390 mm back. They are kept in place by six-piston calipers. The brake system's hydraulic size and booster tune have been changed, improving pedal feel and braking reaction for more precision and driver confidence. By using air from both the main conditioning intake and the underfloor, improved brake cooling is achieved, and high performance brake pads provide excellent friction constancy across a wide temperature range.

Twenty-two inch wheels are standard on the DBX707, but alternative 23-inch alloy wheels in textured black or satin black with diamond shaped highlights are also available. The large-diameter tire provides better primary body control, superior steering reaction, and quicker lap times.

The DBX707 is equipped with a brand-new iteration of the electronic restricted slip rear differential (e-diff). It has a modified final drive ratio of 3.27, which is shorter than the DBX V8's 3.07, to manage the full 900Nm of torque. This increases in-gear performance and allows the DBX707 to accelerate quickly through the lower ratios while maintaining the nine-speed transmission's efficiency and cruising elegance.

The DBX707's suspension boasts superior damper valving and dynamic spring volume switching recalibration to enhance body control and steering response. In order to provide the driver a greater sense of the growing cornering loads and available grip, the electronic power steering system has also been modified to give them a better steering feel with more effort built-up off-center.

The DBX707 appearance and interior have both undergone extensive renovations in order to stay up with its significant engineering advancements.

The revised front end of the 2023 Aston Martin DBX features brake cooling ducts, a bigger front grille to better cool the engine and transmission, and other changes. The redesigned louvred bonnet blades and dark satin chrome window surrounds nicely complement the gloss black splitter and front grille. The transformation of the back is striking. To reduce lift and increase high-speed stability, a new lip spoiler has been added to the roof wing. Meanwhile, a considerably larger twin rear diffuser rises to match the new large diameter quad exhaust system, boosting both aerodynamic form and visual form.

Retaining the athletic theme are the standard Sport seats inside. Additionally, comfort seats are a free alternative that are offered. All seat choices include heating and 16-way motorized adjustment. Three different interior settings are available: the standard Accelerate, which has a combination of leather and Alcantara; the optional Inspire-Comfort and Inspire Sport; and the latter, which has full Semi-Aniline leather with embroidered Aston Martin wings on the headrest, a contrast stripe down the middle of the seat, and a perforation pattern in the seat back and base cushion.

The switchgear in the DBX707's interior is finished in dark chrome, same like its exterior. Carbon fiber and brilliant chrome are available customization choices. The vehicle also features a basic Piano Black veneer, with options for carbon fiber or bronze metal mesh treatments.

Customers who want to further increase the exclusivity of the DBX707 can have the best personalization through Q by Aston Martin, the brand's bespoke service. With options ranging from distinctive graphics to tinted carbons and bespoke materials, each Q by Aston Martin - Commission car may push the limits of desire and is totally customized to the customer.

The DBX707 is set to build on the success of Aston Martin's first SUV, which sold over 3,000 units in its first year of production and garnered numerous awards. It is the flagship model in the DBX series. Among them are back-to-back victories as the "Best Super Luxury SUV" at the PR Arabia National Auto Awards, the "Super SUV of the Year" by Top Gear, and the "Best Luxury SUV" at the GQ Car Awards.

Aston Martin Manila stated that although the first local unit is available in Apex Grey with Phantom Grey Seats that feature an exclusive Electron Yellow from the Q Collection, customers of the DBX707 may modify their DBX707 to their preferences through indent order, the Carmudi Philippines report added.

The model's starting price is P33.5 million, according to Fiel Tan, the Head of Marketing for Aston Martin Manila.
