Audi RSQ E-Tron to debut in an upcoming animated movie
MANILA: Audi is making an animated debut with its very first concept car exclusively designed for a super spy. And guess what? Its electric power.
If James Bond gets to drive an Aston Martin Rapide E in the upcoming 007 film franchise, Audi is gearing up to make an animated debut on Spies in Disguise. In the short teaser for the film titled “Lunch Break,”
we see Lance Sterling (voiced by Will Smith), the very cool super-spy, calmly driving the Audi RSQ E-Tron concept while the nerdy weapons specialist Walter Beckett (voiced by Tom Holland) freaks out beside him.
We get an exterior and interior glimpse of the Audi RSQ E-Tron as it tries to maneuver around the city to avoid Helicopter missiles. It speeds through inside a tunnel, jumped on a broken bridge, and outruns a helicopter with its Audi on Demand Performance Package Power Boost and Audi AI Active.
Animators made sure the Audi was not mistaken for a Tesla as it highlights the Audi badge on the rear and front of the E-Tron in slow motion during a car chase. Inside, we get to see a holographic cluster, digital instrumentation running the width of the car, an infotainment display, and a voice-activated AI that is very responsive and intuitive. And best of all, the Audi RSQ E-Tron is fully electric.
By the end of the short, we see Beckett behind the wheel thinking he gets to drive when the Audi was in autopilot all along.
Spies in Disguise is coming in theatres in time for Christmas. But since December is reserved exclusively for MMFF entries, expect to see the Audi RSQ E-Tron driven by super-spy Lance Sterling sometime next year.
