Audi A6 Sedan

The interior is another mood enhancer with sophisticated technology fitted all around. The three-spoke multi-function steering wheel gets a flat-bottom design. The dashboard is pretty fascinating as there are many things to love. There are digital displays all around for the front occupants where the driver gets the Audi Virtual Cockpit for the information console. The dashboard gets a touchscreen infotainment system, while there is another digital display lower down for the centre console.

The cabin is extremely spacious and comfortable and there is ambient lighting as well, which can be set to 30 different shades based on what the occupants want.

The Audi A6 sedan has never been much complaining. It fits the bill between the affordable A4 and the super luxurious A8 perfectly. It is big enough to be mistaken as a limousine, which is something great for its aesthetics.

The illumination section is especially amazing in this saloon and the same can be prominently seen on the HD Matrix LED lights up front, along with LED DRLs and dynamic indicators. Even the rear gets sleek combination tail lights done in LED. The front grille is a wide single-frame setup, while there are air intakes in the sides as well.  

The 2020 Audi A6 pulls really nicely, thanks to the mild-hybrid powertrain doing duties under the hood. The 245 PS of power is good enough to make an acceleration figure of 0-100 kmph in just 6.8 seconds before topping at the highest speed of 250 kmph.

The Philippines model does lack the Quattro all-wheel drive, which could have been bliss for a luxury car of this caliber. However, the saloon isn’t the heaviest in the lot and at 1.5 tonnes, the front wheel based drivetrain does offer a very smooth ride.

Coming to the engine specifications, the Audi A6 sedan gets a mild-hybrid powertrain for the 2020 model year that was launched in September 2019. This powertrain is made up of a 2.0-litre TFSI, turbocharged engine, along with a 12V hybrid technology. This setup is capable of making a maximum power of 245 PS, along with a peak torque of 370 Nm.

The transmission duties are done by a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, which sends the power to the front wheels. However, the Philippines spec model does not get an all-wheel-drive mechanism.

The Audi A6 sedan does not compromise on the safety front, as much as it focuses on drivers’ assistance features. The primary braking duties are done by disc brakes for all the wheels, which are made even safer with the inclusion of an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist. Airbags are also given as standard in the sedan.

And then comes the features based on radars and sensors. To be precise, the Audi A6 has sensors on all sides. There are radar points on the four edges, while a 360-degree camera is also added. There is a camera t detect front pedestrians too. All of these together help the driver in pedestrian detection, lane keep and change assist, hill start assist, stability control, etc.

The Audi A6, in its latest iteration for the Philippines, is a notch ahead of what the previous model was, thanks to the mild-hybrid technology offered. It was launched at a price of PHP 4,690,000, which makes it one of the most competitive sedans in the segment.
