BEIJING: Geely presented the Galaxy Starship concept sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the opening day of the ongoing Auto China 2024.

According to Geely, the Galaxy Starship can offer an estimated range of more than 2,000 kilometers.Looking to set a new standard in green mobility, the Geely Galaxy Starship concept SUV is built on the brand’s global intelligent new energy architecture with a hybrid electric powertrain system that boasts 46-percent thermal efficiency and more than 200 kilometers of range with a full tank and fully-charged battery.
Other notable features slapped on the concept SUV include a sleek LED light bar sitting atop its modern digital grille, large centerlock-like wheels with a futuristic design, and large gull-wing doors.
Further, the Geely Galaxy Starship concept SUV is equipped with an expansive digital screen, a panoramic surround audio artificial intelligence (AI) system, and AI smart seats with a single seat on the second row of the vehicle that could make it a suitable ride for those who like to be chauffeured.
The aforementioned appointments are just a preview of what features its production model might have.
And speaking of production models, Geely took to the automotive exposition the nameplates currently available in the region.
These include the Geely Yinhe E8 electric vehicle (EV) — which won in this year’s iF Design Awards and the 2024 Muse Design Platinum Award — as well as the Yinhe L6 sedan and the Yinhe L7 crossover.

In the Philippines, Geely’s offerings consist of pure internal combustion engine-powered models such as the Coolray, Okavango, Azkarra, Emgrand, and GX3 Pro.
The local arm of the Chinese carmaker is yet to bring electric vehicles in the country and there are no disclosed plans yet regarding the introduction of Geely’s Yinhe series here in Philippine soil.
Nevertheless, some of its subsidiaries, which offer electrified models, have now entered the local market.
Lynk and Co — under United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated — just made itself known to Filipino car buyers not too long ago. The 01 crossover has a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle powertrain.
Zeekr, which is Geely’s premium EV sub-brand, is being managed by the Autohub Group here in the Philippines. The marque also had its formal launch last month.
