BEIJING: Zeekr has unveiled two of its latest innovations at Auto Shanghai 2024: the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA)-M platform and the Mix multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). 

According to the Geely-owned premium electric car brand, the SEA-M architecture is a high-tech mobility solution that supports a wide range of mobility products, ranging from passenger vehicles like robotaxis and MPVs used for logistics. 

On that note, Zeekr’s SEA-M architecture can serve as a catalyst for vehicles that are like intelligent living rooms on wheels. Some of the platform’s notable benefits include the provision of a spacious interior, flat floors, variable seat placement choices, a “hidden” B-pillar, and a capsule-like body. 

It also gets an advanced electrical and electronic backbone, which allows for the installation of infotainment screens for both the driver and the passengers. 

The latter allows the SEA-M platform to offer infotainment screens to be set up both for the driver and the passengers. 

Zeekr’s SEA-M architecture also gives way to flat floors and a high wheelbase-to-length ratio, and a turning radius of less than five meters that can be maximized on every model based on the said platform. 

“These technologies do not compromise safety. All vehicles built on the SEA-M architecture will be able to meet five-star safety standards globally, and qualify for the Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS),” Zeekr wrote in a press release. 

The Zeekr Mix embodies all of the abovementioned benefits offered by the brand’s SEA-M architecture. The Mix MPV is the fifth model from the EV brand and is the first nameplate to use the new platform. 

Zeekr 001 

Also on display at Zeekr’s booth was the 001 performance car in “Safety Car” livery. 

The Zeekr 001 is equipped with silicon carbide-powered electric motors that can propel the electric shooting brake car from a standstill to 100 kilometers in just 3.3 seconds. 

Zeekr claims that the iconic drivability of the model “is further improved by Zeekr engineers and Zhou Guanyu, China’s first Formula 1 driver and the Chief Motorist of all-new Zeekr 001.” 

 The Zeekr 001 is fitted with an 800-volt electrical system with a driving range of up to 675 kilometers.
