BMW Philippines network resumes operations
MANILA: SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. (SMC ACDC), official importer and distributor of BMW automobiles in the Philippines, has reopened its dealership network, while implementing modified working hours and adhering to government orders on personnel complement.
In a release, BMW Philippines said that selected dealerships had opened as early as May 16 "to begin disinfecting procedures in their facilities and start catering to guests."
To help manage the number of clients in consideration of social distancing, the company is mandating that aftersales services such as vehicle PMS work need to be scheduled through the official BMW Aftersales Portal http://aftersales.bmw.com.ph/.
Meanwhile, for a complete listing of showroom and service center schedules, people can visit BMW Philippines’s official Facebook page http://facebook.com/BMWPhilippines.
The Munich-based brand reported that it is now implementing "a comprehensive set of safety protocols that must be observed by dealership personnel and guests at all times. This is to ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for everyone moving forward."
These measures are as follows:
-
There will be only one entry and exit point at BMW dealerships.
-
Guests are required to wear face masks at all times.
-
Guests have to wash their hands at a provided wash basin and utilize the foot bath for disinfection.
-
Guests will be given a temperature check upon entry.
-
Guests need to fill out a simple health questionnaire for contact tracing purposes.
-
Coffee and snacks will not be served; bottled water may be requested.
-
Test drive opportunities remain available. Vehicles will be properly disinfected before and after use.
-
Dealership personnel will implement social distancing and will wear face masks and face shields
-
Frequently touched surfaces in each facility will be sanitized every two hours.
Said SMC ACDC President Spencer Yu, “While we are excited to restart the BMW business, the safety of our team members is of paramount importance. We hope our guests can bear with us as we make the dealership experience as safe and enjoyable as they can possibly be. We enjoin everyone, from our own personnel to our valued guests, to do our part. In doing so, we can help bring the country a step closer to healing.”
