Bugatti La Voiture Noire sold for $ 19 million
MANILA: What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word “Bugatti”? Is it power? Or looks? Or is it, “damn, that’s expensive!”? Bugatti cars are indeed costly as even the low-end variant of the Chiron costs $ 3 million (roughly Php 156,000,000).
However, for the enthusiasts, there is also a Chiron Sport model which is some hundred thousand dollars more expensive than the standard Chiron. In case you have got too much cash lying around, then there is the Divo, a car based on the Chiron and limited to 40 production units only.
Just when we thought how more expensive could a Bugatti get, the French automaker has spurred a surprise at the ongoing 2019 Geneva Motor Show. And the price of the car revealed by Bugatti at the event has made the whole portfolio of the automobile manufacturer appear cheap and a bargain. Paying homage to Jean Bugatti’s personal Type 57SC Atlantic is the Bugatti La Voiture Noire. Translating to “the black car”, it is world’s most expensive car of all time, says Bugatti.
Even with an ex-showroom price of $ 12.5 million (around Php 652,000,000), the Bugatti La Voiture Noire has already been sold. Wanna know the final price of the car including taxes and other costs? Well, it is a jaw-dropping $ 19 million (roughly Php 993 million). The buyer of the car, however, remains ambiguous.
The Bugatti La Voiture Noire follows the design language of the Divo and boasts a handcrafted carbon fibre body. According to Bugatti, though, the car takes its inspiration from the Type57SC Atlantic. The car features the “split rear window” on the engine cover, and there is long fin that runs from the hood till the rear end of the car.
The headlights are LED units, and the taillights are made up of a thin strip of LEDs. The La Voiture Noire features six exhaust outlets. Yes, you heard that right. Just like the Chiron and Divo, this special car also gets its power from an 8.0-litre W16 motor that makes 1,500 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 1,600 Nm.
