BYD Cars PH launches new app to boost ownership experience

MANILA: BYD Cars Philippines has launched a new application that will allow vehicle monitoring using mobile devices.

Integrated the already-available DiLink connectivity system, the recently-unveiled BYD App is designed to ensure that every drive would be safer, smarter, and more comfortable.

Per ACMobility, the new app lets users monitor their vehicle in real-time such as car status, location, and battery condition. It can also remotely operate the door locks, horn, and lights as well as air-conditioning functions.

Further, BYD App users can check charging percentage, vehicle health, tire pressure, and a brief car driving history. It can even schedule the climate control system to turn on at a specified time and applies to all models.

Making it easy for customers to have the latest version of the software is the over-the-air support technology.

Per ACMobility, software updates will also be introduced to customers who previously purchased their BYD electric vehicles to make sure that the BYD App integrates seamlessly with the vehicles’ DiLink connectivity system.

The new BYD app is interlinked with the DiLink system which has an array of advanced technologies that include voice recognition, built-in navigation, geo-mapping, and other services such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 4G connectivity.

“BYD is globally known for its advanced technology that integrates both hardware and software into a seamless driving experience,” BYD Cars Philippines newly-hailed Managing Director Bob Palanca said.

“The BYD app along with the new software update will deliver enhanced value to our customers in the ever-changing EV landscape and will further elevate their ownership experience,” he added.

Further, those who will have a vehicle from the Ayala-led vehicle distributor will get a free 10-year subscription of the BYD app.

More apps to follow soon

Aside from the BYD App, BYD Cars Philippines shall also provide more apps that shall enhance user experience such as the Stingray Karaoke app and the in-car web browser.

The Stingray Karaoke app will have more than 80,000 licensed songs in 25 languages and a growing music catalog (which can be browsed by genre, theme, artist, or even by the lyrics of the song). It can also turn on and off the lead vocals and change visual backgrounds.

On the other hand, the web browser (akin to computer browsing), would come with an easy tab navigation, multi-window functionality, and save websites for quick access.

To ensure safety, the web browser is only operable while the vehicle is parked.
