BYD Cars PH to launch Seal high-performance EV at 2024 PEVS

For the unaware, this year’s PEVS will be held at the SMX Convention Center. The three-day event is scheduled from October 24-26, 2024, while the actual unveiling of the all-new electric vehicle (EV) will take place at the BYD booth at 11 a.m. on the event’s second day (Oct 25).
To note, the local introduction of the Seal was previously hinted at by BYD Cars Philippines Managing Director Bob Anthony Palanca through an interview. The Seal was also one of the vehicles Zigwheels Philippines was able to test drive in 2023 at Zhuhai, China.

In various markets, the BYD Seal is available as a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) and single-motor rear-wheel-drive model. The more powerful of the two is the AWD version, which can generate up to 522 horsepower and 670 Newton-meters of torque.
According to the China-based car manufacturer, the AWD version of the Seal boasts an estimated zero to 100 kilometer per hour time of 3.8 seconds. It can also cover a range of up to 520 kilometers, per the Worldwide harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure.
Just like other BYD offerings, the Seal comes standard with the brand’s Blade battery. It also has fast charging capabilities, a vehicle-to-load system, a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assist systems, and a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen display, among others.
