CALAX, Cavitex to reinforce motorist assistance program this holiday season

MANILA: As the Christmas shopping and travel season begins, Metro Pacific Tollways (MPT) South is preparing for the expected surge in traffic on the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) and Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex).

Meanwhile, MPT South anticipates a notable 35-percent rise in traffic at CALAX, from 35,000 to 47,000 vehicles this year. The anticipated surge is due to motorists traveling from Manila traveling to Tagaytay and nearby cities and towns via the recently opened Silang Aguinaldo Interchange, which gives drivers easier access to popular tourist spots.
To ensure smooth and hassle-free trips, MPT South will be put on high alert and will launch the “Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko” (SMSK) motorist assistance program across its high-speed road networks from December 22 to 24, December 26 to 17, and December 30 to January 2. Additional personnel will be on ground for services like traffic management and toll collection, incident response, and standby emergency medical services.
Free towing for Class 1 vehicles up to the nearest exit will also be provided as part of the SMSK program.
