CAMPI Sales Report for April 2016 Out – 30.3% Hike Recorded
MANILA: Here's another report from the camp of CAMPI and indeed it's a good one. The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. has revealed the data for the last month which shows some really impressive sales numbers. Just a month ago, CAMPI disclosed the sales of the first quarter of 2016 which was not only impressive but a record setter. Toyota, the world's biggest automotive manufacturer, led the Q1 2016 with glory and took the biggest pie of the cake with 39.92 percent. Apart from declaring the leader, CAMPI also declared that a hike of 22 percent was recorded overall in the Philippines automobile market which is surely a reason to celebrate for various brands.
After cheering up the automakers with these double digit numbers. CAMPI has now come up with another report which states that the April has been the best commercial month of the year 2016 with total sales of 27,697 passenger and commercial vehicles. While this figure clearly depicts a crystal clear elevation of 30.3 percent in the sales of vehicles in comparison to the April 2015, a boost of 24 percent has also been recorded in April 2016 than March 2016. Woof! Impressive.
One interesting fact is, though the overall sales have been improved, there is no change in the leadership board and Toyota is still leading the ladder with 41.52 percent while Mitsubishi managed to grab 18.63 percent in the Filipino automotive market. Ford is still on the third position with 10.59 percent followed by Isuzu with 8.45 percent and Honda has to satisfy with 7.15 percent and fifth spot. Overall, the market share has been shaken a little of what CAMPI revealed for the first 3 months than the report of 4th month inclusive and it would be easy to summarize that Toyota is leading the sales charts like anything.
Well, it's not just that these 5 brands are the best of the manufacturers which have made their drives available for Filipinos but there are other factors which influence the buying decision. If we analyze, these brands have consistently kept the interest of the buyers in mind by offering great discounts, promos, and additional facilities. In April itself, automakers like Ford and Toyota rained discounts like anything. Surely who would not like to go for a drive with cutting edge technology and enticing discounts. Let's see if other automakers take a lesson and make some serious efforts to change this report in the coming months!
