Department of Health (DOH) receives Mitsubishi L300 and Xpander
MANILA: Via the Procurement Service (PS), a company of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), the Department of Health (DOH) recently received four Mitsubishi L300 Euro 4 from the Japanese carmaker Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC). Francisco Duque, the Health Secretary, accepted the vehicles.
The process of acquiring a vehicle has now become much easier thanks to the centralized procurement of motor vehicles at PS. Vehicles can now be ordered online by the agencies. Following the affirmation and payment of the generated request, the vehicle is delivered at the doorstep of the agency. Not only the new system enables acquiring new vehicles hassle-free but also helps in "maintaining the principles of economy, efficiency, and check and balances".
PS-DBM will receive 232 units of the L300 with FB Body and 33 units of the Xpander GLX Plus AT. The two Mitsubishi models will arrive via CitiMotors Makati and Diamond Motors Fairview. PS-DBM Executive Director Elisa May Arboleda-Cuevas was present at the vehicle receiving ceremony and expressed her joy regarding how well the whole process of acquiring the vehicles went.
Mitsubishi launched the updated L300 last year. The new model gets a 2.2-litre Euro4 compliant turbo-diesel engine that churns out 98 hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 200 Nm. The power unit is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission that sends the power to the wheels. Moreover, the fuel efficiency figures read 12 kmpl. The ground clearance and the wheelbase measure 195 mm and 2350 mm, respectively.
As for the Mitsubishi Xpander, the much-popular and successful MPV houses a 1.5-litre MIVEC DOHC inline four-cylinder 16-Valve fuel-injected engine that generates 105 hp of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 141 Nm at 4,000 revs. Since the received unit is the GLX Plus AT variant, the transmission here is a 4-speed automatic. The MPV boasts a 4-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating courtesy of the ABS with EBD, Emergency Stop Signal system, large 15-inch ventilated discs at the front, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and Mitsubishi’s proprietary RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) unibody construction.
