Fast and functional: Tesla crossover zooms to 100kph in 3.7 ticks
MANILA: The Tesla Model Y took a mere 3.7 seconds from standstill to reach 100kph according to Vbox telemetry. The seven-seater electric compact crossover utility vehicle (CUV) also reached ¼ mile in 11.91 seconds at 186kph.
Tesla introduced the Model Y customers this year. For the time being, only the Long Range and Performance models with the dual-motor configuration are available. Drag Times decided to test the claims of the manufacturer with its very own MYP.
The previous Tesla Model 3 is lighter, and exhibited more terms of efficiency compared to the Model Y. The driving range is also longer on the sedan.
The Model Y Long Range AWD would set car customers back US$52,990, without potential savings. This is also the same amount that Chevrolet is expecting for its all-new Suburban and Tahoe.
The Performance package offers lowered suspension, cooler wheels, and larger brakes. It elevates the top speed by 16.09kph to 249.45kph. The only downside is decreased driving range.
