Ford Next to dump Takata
MANILA: Ford becomes the next automaker to dump Takata, the auto part manufacturer. This decision from Ford will bring an end to Ford and Takata long partnership. But it is important to note that Ford will continue to integrate other Takata bagged parts in its cars and will only end faulty Ford Takata airbag usage.
This decision from Ford came after the seemingly continual recall that have cost Ford large amounts. The year-long investigation has already cost $70 million fine, plus an additional $130 million penalty to the company. Ford Takata Airbag in the past has known to repute, ejecting hot metal pieces in the air, harming passengers. Until now, eight people worldwide are known to have died and many have injured due to faulty Ford Takata airbags.
Over 1.5 million cars have been recalled worldwide due to Ford faulty airbag issue, forcing Ford against Takata-manufactured airbags in its future cars. Making it the fifth company ditching Takata after Toyota, Nissan, Mazda and Honda.

As for Takata, the company is tasting the bitterest part of its faith, it reported an accumulated loss of $45.8 million and have forgone 75% of its 2015 profit forecast.
