Ford Philippines Experienced 61 Percent Jump In Sales – Report Out For First Half
MANILA: Half of 2016 is over and the automakers have another 6 months to complete the targets set by them in the beginning of the year and compete with contemporaries to fetch the no. 1 position in the automotive market. Well, we are not sure about all the 42 brands but surely the top 5 companies are doing everything possible to grab the no. 1 spot. According to the last CAMPI report, the top 5 auto brands in the Philippines automotive market were Toyota, Mitsubishi, Ford, Isuzu and Honda. This sequence was for May 2016 sales in the local market and the latest report for June is still awaited to be released.
Though we are still waiting for the individual reports by CAMPI for half yearly and June 2016 sales, but seems like Ford Philippines is super excited with its sales and couldn't wait anymore to share the news with its customers. The American giant has announced that it has witnessed a hike of 61 percent in the first half of 2016 in comparison to the same tenure last year which is tremendous for any automaker for sure. This is the best ever sales performance shown by the American auto giant and the credit goes to the Ford Everest which has experienced a sudden boom in the automotive market. Other drives which have a major contribution in achieving this raise are the Ford EcoSport and Ford Ranger. Clearly, Filipinos have developed likes for vehicles with more utility and functionality.
An authority has revealed that apart from a 61 percent of whooping hike in the sales in the first half this year, the company is celebrating a 50 percent increase in sales in June this year in comparison to 2015. While Ford Everest remains to be the all-time favorite of the Filipinos with retail sales counting to 1054 units in June 2016, the overall sales of this SUV have been recorded to 6961 from January to June this year. Similarly, the very appealing and liked compact SUV by Ford, the EcoSport, has recorded a sales of 852 units in June 2016 which shows a hike of 11 percent than last year's June. Overall, in the first 6 months, a total of 4367 units of EcoSport were sold out in the Philippines automotive market. In June this year, 629 units of the sole pick-up in the Ford fleet, Ford Ranger, were traded within the country with a total count of 3972 units between January and June 2016.
Surely Ford is on cloud nine and is keeping its fingers crossed for the CAMPI report to check if it has changed its market position from 3rd spot to 2nd!
