This could be interesting to see as the CEO, Rommel Sytin, said during the event, “we have already surpassed our 2015 target and are targeting 55% increase in sales next year.”
But the big question is, why one would go for a Foton tagged car when he/she can easily opt for a Toyota, Mitsubishi or Isuzu vehicle.
Below under we tried to justify the price, Foton has decided for Toplander.

Foton Toplander is offered with Cummins 2.8L four cylinder in-line turbo power mill that generates 177 PS of maximum power and 360 Nm of peak torque. As for transmission, there is a five-speed manual option available. Both the above-mentioned figures far surpass its competitors like Toyota Fortuner and Isuzu mu-X. The SUV is efficient to offer a top speed of 150 km/h with a mileage of 8.2 – 9L/ 100 km.
2. Convenience -
The brand took full care of its passenger’s convenience and comfort and thus stuffed the car with features like a multi-functional steering wheel, trip computer display, USB/MP3 and blue-tooth connectivity.
3. Safety at its best -
With dual airbags, ABS/EBD, and rear parking sensors as standard safety options, Foton seems to know the fact well that 'safety is nothing to play with'. It also provides a number of optional safety features like hill-start-assist and traction control.
4. Looks -
The car launched looks like a twin to its Chinese counterpart Sauvana that was recently unveiled in North America. And so is armed with bold looks, carefree design and muscular styling. The interior too is spacious and provides ample leg room and storage space.
All these features and attributes fully comply with the set price, but will Filipinos expect this newbie or will it remain is the showcase and soon get lost under the charm of its competitors. Only the time will tell.
