MANILA: Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding), the owner of brands such as Geely Auto, Lynk & Co, Zeekr, Volvo Cars, and Proton, has sold a total of 2,651,922 vehicles globally in the first ten months of 2024.

The automotive brands under Zhejiang Geely Holding Group are Geely Auto, Lynk & Co, Zeekr, Volvo Cars, Polestar, Proton, Lotus, Smart, Radar, LEVC, and Farizon.Per the conglomerate’s breakdown of the January-October 2024 sales figure posted on its website, a total of 1,414,947 units sold in the said period were electrified vehicles. The aforementioned figure equates to a year-on-year increase of 50.7 percent for Geely Holding’s global sales of electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
Additionally, 1,009,975 units out of its reported global sales in the said period were sold in other regions outside of China.
For the Hong Kong-listed Geely Auto and its subbrands (Lynk & Co and Zeekr), the company saw 346,582 units sold globally in the first ten months of 2024. Volvo Cars and Proton likewise sold 622,608 and 125,557 units, respectively, in various markets around the world in the same period.
To note, Geely Holding also owns Polestar, Lotus, Radar, LEVC, Smart, LEVC, and Farizon. The Chinese automotive firm, however, has not published the January-October 2024 global sales sales figures for the said brands as of this writing.
In the context of the Philippines, Geely has yet to share the latest sales report for the local market, but it has seen significant developments this year.
For starters, the brand’s local arm is now called Geely Motor Philippines Corporation, which reflects its change in leadership. Specifically, it is now owned and operated directly by its mother company - Geely Auto International Corporation.
Additionally, Geely Philippines has already started the sales period for the updated version of the Coolray.
With a price ranging from P1.199 million-P1.299 million, the refreshed crossover model received a redesigned front grille, a new set of wheels, a set of sharper-looking LED fixtures, and a pair of larger digital displays - among others.
