Geely KX11 SUV makes world debut at 2021 Shanghai Auto Show
MANILA: Geely Automobile has officially launched its new KX11 sports utility vehicle (SUV) at the 19th Shanghai Automobile Show, also known as the Shanghai Auto Show.
Due to the global success of Geely’s SUV models in the recent years, the brand has developed the KX11 to target the high-profile, socially minded, and career-oriented people. The heavyweight SUV model is engineered from Geely’s CMA architecture.
Along with the KX11 launch, the Chinese carmaker has also introduced the “SUV Liberator Action” that "uses power of science and technology to overturn industry standards with service innovation." Geely Auto Group Chief Executive Officer Gan Jiayue presented the Liberator Action in form of user dialogue at the Shanghai Auto Show.
SUV Liberator Action 1: For users, Geely has been leading in five aspects of “safety, health, intelligence, performance, and energy saving,” establishing SUV global standards, and transitioning to the digital Geely Auto 4.0 Era.
SUV Liberator Action 2: For users, Geely has been leading the production of intelligent SUVs in four major areas: vehicle OTA, 5G Internet connection, intelligent digital, and application of automatic driving technology, becoming a pioneer in the promotion of intelligent SUV, and transitioning to the digital Geely Auto 4.0 Era.
SUV Liberator Action 3: For users, Geely has been observing high-quality production and practicing user commitment. Dialogue with users in a new form, zero distance with users, and progressively expand into a user-friendly company.
“In the pursuit of technological advancement, the SUV Liberator KX11 is a luxury gift for users in the Geely Auto 4.0 Era,” said Gan. Geely continues to move towards the next phase of the development of a fully racked constructed vehicle.
The debut of the SUV Liberator KX11 has sparked a debate among car enthusiasts regarding the ability of the core technology to outshine the leadership of international brands. Others are more interested in the diversity and innovation of the user experience. To address these concerns, the Geely chief presented some intelligent technology points at the auto show, including mobile 5G high-speed mobile communication technology and whole-vehicle all-area FOTA online upgrade technology.
The KX11 comes with the strongest vehicle specification level Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. The SUV supports 5G high-speed network. It is also equipped with a huge IMAX one-meter screen across the center console, a 25.6-inch AR-HUD head-up display, and a 12.3-inch smart instrument display.
Additional features can be activated on the KX11 through the whole vehicle OTA online upgrade technology. The SUV also uses a 5G-AVP 1km unmanned parking technology, which connects the car park end, the car cloud end, and the mobile end in real time through 5G technology. This feature allows the vehicle to independently look for a parking space and find the owner. The safe autonomous driving takes away the hassle of parking in tight spots.
As the latest premium SUV model that uses the CMA architecture, the KX11 perfectly carries the five aspects of CMA architecture, namely “safety, health, intelligence, performance, and energy saving.” As the major facet of the Geely Auto 4.0 Era, the CMA architecture will be incorporating 5G technology on its products, helping to position Geely as a leader in the automotive technology in the next 10 to 15 years.
To continuously strengthen its technology advantages, Geely has invented more than 100 billion yuan in R&D within 10 years. The company has invested 4.8 million yuan in 2020, which was 5.2% of its revenue. Geely is also investing hundreds of millions of yuan annually on a life guardian safety and health laboratory that takes care of the development of a comprehensive health car and a “super intelligent mobile terminal.” The company has also continued to improve its proficiency in leading-edge car technologies, including new energy technology, vehicle networking, intelligent driving, shared mobility, in-vehicle chips, low-orbit satellites, and flying cars.
From 1.0 economic cars, to 2.0 safety cars, 3.0 quality cars, to 4.0 intelligent cars, Geely Automobile has always been developing the best and most advanced vehicle models to stay true to its commitment to its customers.
With over 10 million users, Geely Automobile is now considered as a Chinese brand leader. In the recent Shanghai Auto Show, Geely has expressed not only gratitude to the users, but also commitment in giving its best in satisfying the needs of the customers. Geely has also announced new initiatives in reaching a wider market and gaining more users in its new era. The company is set to begin the recruitment of “Star Expreience Officers” soon, together with the implementation of the CMA Day program.
Geely has also observed impressive growth through its overseas market expansion. In 2020, Geely’s overseas sales increased by 25%, moving around 73,000 units. It has extended its reach to its four more countries including Jordan, Iraq, Myanmar and Israel.
