Geely makes second donation of 100,000 medical masks for frontliners

MANILA: As part of its continuous support for healthcare workers in controlling the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, Geely Holding Group donates 100,000 surgical masks to the Philippines. This was half of the 200,000 pieces of medical masks that the auto company, through Li Shufu Charity Foundation, gave to various Asian countries aside from the Philippines, such as Laos and Malaysia.

The China-ASEAN Entrepreneurs Association Preparatory Committee led the ceremonial turnover of the 200,000 surgical masks to ASEAN countries, focusing on the theme, “Mutual Assistance and Solidarity.”

Consuls from numerous countries, representatives of different enterprises, and leaders of significant organizations attended the turnover ceremony, which was held at Nanning, Guangxi Region, China. Representatives from various ASEAN countries reiterated the immediate need for PPEs during these trying times. They also explained the significant role of PPEs in combating the COVID-19 pandemic across different countries in the ASEAN region.

Previously, Geely Holding Group, through Li Shufu Charity Foundation, also provided 20,000 surgical masks to the Department of Health (DOH). This was the company’s response to the immediate need for personal protective equipment (PPEs) and medical items since there had been a lack of these supplies when the number of COVID-19 cases rose rapidly in the country.

The deputy general manager of Geely Automobile International Sales Company, Jin Guangyu stated that Geely Automobile would continuously exercise awareness on the COVID-19 situation in the country. It will also continually utilize its global resources and collaborate with its local partners to assist in overcoming the global pandemic.
