MANILA: Grab Philippines, together with Move It, has distributed relief packages to a total of 1,000 families affected by Tropical Storm Kristine.

The relief operation conducted by Grab PH and Move It benefitted a total of 1,000 families from Cavite and Laguna.According to the ride-hailing company, the said families were residents of Cavite and Laguna areas, which were hit hard by the tropical storm. Also, each package contained essential items such as rice, canned goods, and bathroom supplies.
To note, several Grab driver and rider partners likewise volunteered to help in the distribution of the aforementioned relief goods.
“Sa tuwing may kalamidad, kaming mga deliver partners na hindi gaanong naapektuhan ay nakikipagtulungan na agad sa Grab para mag volunteer sa mga ganitong klaseng relief operations (During times of calamity, some of us delivery partners who were not severely affected coordinate immediately with Grab to help with these types of relief operations),” Grab Ugnayan Advocates representative Pepre Mahinay Disoacido Jr. said.
“Sa pamamagitan ng aming community channels, na identify namin agad ang mga kabahayan na nangangailangan ng agarang tulong. Itong mga ganitong klaseng impormasyon ang ibinahagi namin sa Grab para sa mas mapabilis ang pagtugon at pagtulong, (Through our community channels, we identified households who needed help immediately. The kind of information we gathered we shared with Grab to expedite the distribution of aid),” Disoacido added.
Additionally, the transportation and logistics superapp and its moto-taxi subsidiary have activated the GrabCares and Move It Malasakit calamity-assistance programs. The said programs offer financial aid, as well as in-kind support, to the company’s driver and delivery partners, who were devastated by the recent weather phenomenon.
Grab partners who need it should be aware that the company’s assistance programs can be accessed through the driver app. The Singapore-based conglomerate has assured applications for the said program are easy and streamlined in order to provide immediate aid to drivers and riders who were affected by Kristine.
