HARI Foundation aware people about breast cancer by Alagang Breastfriend campaign

MANILA: Hyundai Asia Resources Inc (HARI) Foundation has taken the initiative to promote women’s wellness in underserved communities by starting the Alagang Breastfriend campaign, focusing on educating people about breast cancers. In this great initiative, HARI gets the support from the UP-PGH and UP-PGH Cancer Institute.

In the first take, Hyundai provided an H-350 luxury van that transformed into a modern mobile diagnostic clinic named Alagang Breastfriend Mobile Diagnostic Clinic. And its partner, UP-PGH  helped this breast cancer awareness campaign by providing doctors and personnel. Also, the mobile clinic comes with breast ultrasound facilities and state-of-the-art mammography. 

On the other hand, the Alagang Breastfriend Mobile Diagnostic Clinic is the first mobile van in the Philippines that passes on the breast cancer’s relevant information and also offers women for free screening so that they can detect whether she has breast cancer or not.

Among the Asian countries, the Philippines has the highest rate of breast cancer patients. According to the Department of Health, every one of the 13 Filipinas can be affected with breast cancer. So if it is detected at early stages, the chances of the patient’s survival will be increased.

Since launching in July, around 40 patients have been served till date with the Alagang Breastfriend Mobile Diagnostic Clinic. It can gather women from different walks of life, and then they share close encounters with the Big C and the other life experience. Then they also share the experience of transforming into breast cancer warriors

HARI Foundation’s President, Maria Fe Perez-Agudo said, “We are doing something for the Filipina, and ultimately for our nation. You want to be strong so that you may keep on caring for the people who rely on your love and support.” to the patients and medical staff.
