Here are the 5-door Suzuki Jimny's possible specs for PH market

MANILA: Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) will most likely launch the five-door Jimny anytime soon.

But before the nameplate’s official debut in the country, Zigwheels Philippines was able to find bits of information that could possibly end up in the official spec sheet of the soon-to-arrive model.

A source shared that the upcoming five-door Suzuki Jimny will be powered by the same K15B 1.5-liter engine utilized by its three-door sibling.

To note, the three-door Suzuki Jimny puts out as much as 103 horses with 138Nm of pulling power. It is able to reach speeds of up to 170kph.

As for its stopping power, the Philippine-market five-door Suzuki Jimny is said to receive ventilated disc brakes for better braking performance. In comparison, the three-door Jimny has solid disc brakes.

Outside, the five-door Suzuki Jimny will most likely retain the same features as the five-door trim. However, it will be wearing a grille with chrome accents and power-folding side mirrors.

In terms of size, it will have an overall length of 3,820 millimeters (mm), an overall width of 1,645mm, and an overall height of 1,720mm. Compared to the three-door model, the five-door grade will be 340mm longer. Moreover, its wheelbase is 2,590mm compared to the three-door option's  2,250mm.

The cabin of the five-door Suzuki Jimny will still retain seats for four but will flaunt improved legroom, allowing occupants on the second-row to get the same level of comfort as those sitting at the front.

As for its luggage space, the five-door Suzuki Jimny will offer 40-percent more boot area versus the three-door brethren. The soon-to-be-revealed  five-door offering, the source noted, will provide would-be owners up to 332 liters when rear seats are folded.

According to the source, the Suzuki Jimny will be offered in three variants: GL MT, GLX AT, and GLX AT (two-tone). Pricing is still yet to be confirmed, but it could range from P1.558 million to P1.708 million.

It is possible that the five-door Suzuki Jimny will be released on January 25. Several units of the nameplate have already been spotted here in the Philippines not too long ago.
