Suzuki Carry Interior & Features
On the inside, there is nothing too exciting but everything is about practicality and convenience. Matte black interiors spread all across in all seating configurations including the 2-seater pickup truck variants, or 3-seater or the top-spec 14-seater variant, Lineman Vehicle MT. Within the Suzuki Carry's cabin, simplicity reigns supreme.
While it may appear basic at first glance, there's a unique charm in the multiple rectangular design elements adorning the dashboard. The non-adjustable two-spoke steering wheel and the all-analog instrument console may come across as simplistic.
The dashboard holds intrigue with two more rectangular housings. One at the center console houses a single DIN audio system, and the other, on the passenger side, acts as a convenient storage cavity for small items. With a bottle holder to the left of the steering wheel, a cavity above the glove box, and a practical glove box itself, the dashboard excels in storage options.
Suzuki's approach to maximize cabin space includes the placement of the gear lever on the dashboard, alongside manual air conditioning controls. Additionally, the driver's seat features a sliding function, adding to the overall practicality of the Suzuki Carry's interior.
Carry Exterior
The Suzuki Carry is basically a no-nense-looking mini truck, or utility van, in whichever form you see it. The truck looks pretty simple and purpose-built. A sleek and modern front fascia design with the noticeable headlamps revamped in the previous edition. The cab and chassis variant can be used in a variety of ways and in the Philippines market, that versatility has played a key role behind the mini truck's popularity.
The exterior design exudes the fact that the truck has been designed to serve as an alternative to the various imminent logistical challenges in the 21st century Filipino market. The truck comes with all the necessary features including manually adjustable outside rear view mirrors, a power antenna, adjustable headlights and a centrally mounted fuel tank.
Suzuki Carry Ride & Handling
The Suzuki Carry rides on diminutive 13-inch wheels and is equipped with a Macpherson strut suspension with coil springs in the front and an over-slung type leaf spring setup at the rear. The ride quality and handling, while not luxurious, are in line with the rugged nature of this vehicle, designed for utility. It offers a balance that ensures stability during heavy loads and over varying terrains.
The small turning radius, measuring just 4.4 meters, significantly enhances maneuverability in tight spaces and congested urban environments. This feature is especially valuable for a workhorse like the Carry, making it well-suited for navigating narrow streets, busy construction sites, and cramped delivery areas, where agility and ease of handling are critical. So, while it might not deliver a plush ride, the Suzuki Carry excels in practicality and utility, which are its primary objectives.
Carry Engine & Fuel Consumption
Under the hood, the Suzuki Carry shares its power plant with other Suzuki models like the Jimny and the Ertiga – a reliable 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine. However, acknowledging its utilitarian role, the engine has been recalibrated to provide a practical performance.
This powertrain setup results in the engine generating 96.5 PS of maximum power output and 135 Nm of peak torque. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a dependable 5-speed manual gearbox.
Suzuki Carry Braking & Safety
While it has not been discouraging based on the reliability and popularity of the Suzuki Carry, the vehicle lacks fundamental safety features like ABS and parking sensors.
However, it's important to note that this pickup truck is intentionally designed for budget-conscious consumers. Its simplicity and affordability are its key selling points, targeting those who prioritize cost-effectiveness over advanced safety technologies.
Carry Verdict
For budget-conscious buyers who are looking for a reliable vehicle to carry a small or medium-sized operation, a delivery van, a passenger carrier, whatever be the purpose, the Suzuki carry fits perfectly and offers superior value for money!
