Honda BR-V and Brio fuel economy test conducted by HCPI

Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) has recently conducted a fuel economy test for its two models Honda BR-V and Honda Brio along with the help of the Automobile Association of the Philippine (AAP). The official results of the test stated that Brio 1.2 V CVT achieved the mileage of 24.39 km/litre and BR-V 1.5 S CVT achieved the mileage of 22.58 km/litre after driving for 230 km approximately.

The results achieved subject to specific driving conditions. The average speed for both vehicles was kept between 60-80 km/hr and the RPMs were maintained at 1500–2000 rpm. The air condition had to be set to 50% cooling with the fan speed kept at 1. The aforementioned mileage got the benefit from i-VTEC mated to an Earth Dreams-developed CVT. The fuel tank capacity of Brio and BR-V are 35 litres and 42 litres respectively.

The test results are beneficial for those customers who are planning to buy Honda Brio or Honda BR-V. The high-riding SUV has proved that it is one of the most fuel-efficient models available in the market along with the most powerful in its class, producing 120 PS of power. On the other hand, the five-door hatchback Honda Brio was able to achieve excellent fuel economy with its small packaging despite having a leader in cabin space and legroom in its class.

The conduction of the fuel test is an initiative of Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) which is supervised and certified by the AAP. The objective behind these kinds of runs is to assist consumers in selecting the best car for them by providing accurate and relevant information. However, the fuel economy also depends on several other conditions including traffic, condition of the vehicle, load while driving, driver technique, wind resistance, climate factors, and so on. So the interpretations can change accordingly.
